Here we go again! I so look forward to seeing all the goodies you have gathered to proudly show us each week!
My contributions today are, first, a scale that Mister acquired recently (might have been in his last side-of-the-road batch!). He's so proud of this - must be a guy thing - that he insists that it be displayed in the kitchen. The only place it fits is on a windowsill. I think I would only be really proud of a nice colored enamel one! This is definitely a man's scale - looks too industrial for me!
Second, are the three plates I picked up recently at a thrift shop. (Remember I said they were in the dishwasher and would show them later?) They are displayed here with my Fire-King Rainbow glasses.
I have no idea who the maker is. They're not Rainbow, Ovide, Platonite, Newport, or Fiesta! But they sure brighten up a rainy Thursday!
It's a little hard to tell from the image, but I would bet your little plates are Riviera made by The Homer Laughlin China Company, the same maker as Fiesta and Harlequin. Usually not marked, so it is hard to ID them if you aren't familiar with the line. And they look great with your vintage glassware. Nice find!

ReplyDeleteLove the plates and cups, I have a green single plate I picked up some where like this, but have no idea the maker. Nice scale too, I'd paint it! Have a great VTT!

ReplyDeleteI wouldn't paint the scale, but I would display it in the kitchen either. It needs some nice old tools to keep it company.

The scales not too bad...I'd compromise and add some cherries in a vintage berry basket tho....if he wants it in the kitchen it gets tweeked...hehe.
ReplyDeleteYour table is wonderful. Those plates are great. I think they're late 30's early to mid-40's. Are they white on the back? They look great with the Fiesta.
Although the plates and cups are bright and festive I LIKE the scale. True enamel would be better but I could go for this too. Especially if I found it by the side of the road!!

Maybe yr hubby will let you put something on the little scale, to brighten it up, maybe a little mop-cap sort of thing on the weighing plattern?
