REDNESDAY - RED HOT SUMMER!

Well, as I mentioned last week, Global Warming, I mean Summer, has hit New England! Thursday and Friday this week are supposed to be 96F/36C, which is mega-hot for us. Thursday's description on the news station says "blazing heat"! But just think how boring life would be if we didn't have weather to complain about!

Last week I went with Katherine and her friends to see the Transformers movie - awesome!

Yesterday we went to Toys R Us to buy My Little Ponies - she collects everything! It's amazing the seriousness of figure and action figure collectors. She was telling me that most Pony collectors are adults and that Hasbro actually listens to the collectors about which ponies should or shouldn't be in the new show or in their line of toys!

Also last week, Mister cleaned all the green mildewy stuff off the north side of the house, which happens to be our main entrance on the deck. He scrubbed the deck clean and re-stained it. Got rid of the cat "house" and built a new one. Then he repainted this funky retro metal couch that he picked up last year. I'd say the deck's looking pretty good now!
I've always been forgetting to take a snapshot of my cutesy S&P cabins - one with a red roof and one with a blue roof.

I picked up this garden flag at the end of the season last year. I needed a flag holder for it and had this plastic hanger that is split in the middle of the bottom - voila! A temporary (if not permanent) solution!

    RED AND YELLOW LULLABY

    Red is the color of cherries, not cheese;
    Yellow the backs of the sweet honeybees;

    Red the fair hair of the Derry Town maid;
    Yellow the yolk of the brown egg fresh-laid;

    Red are the wounds of the sun going down;
    Yellow the daisies beloved by the clown;

    Rainbows of colors, delighting the eye—
    Yellow and scarlet for this lullaby.

  5. What a gorgeous patio glider. My grandparents used to have one that was similar but not nearly as snazzy looking with that lovely new paint job.

    DD & I enjoyed the Transformers as well. And wasn't the "theory" about space travel intriguingly fun to think about? As a baby boomer who LOVES Star Trek, I had a great time with that thought. :)

    Thanks for another lovely Rednesday!

  6. You just can't beat a glider on a porch...especially when it's red! I missed you all last week while I was away. Happy Rednesday.

  7. Sue, you always come up with the best of reds. I have to go looking for them. I have nothing red in my house. Just the plain old earth tones and white.

  8. We are finally roasting over here too. I am staying in unless outdoors involves water. Love the s&p shakers and we have lots of the My Little Ponies around here. Some of the first ones for my older daughter and now a new little collector is playing with them.

  15. This is strange because it is only like 84 degrees here. I say "only".

    You really liked the Transformers movie, eh? I have been so hesitant.
