VTT - Tea Strainer

"Oh, what a beautiful morning, Oh, what a beautiful day, I've got a wonderful feeling, Everything's going my way!"

Just felt like belting out a song this morning! For Vintage Thingies Thursday I have a new old item to share. This is a vintage tea strainer.
Got it at a thrift store for $1.00. I did a little research on them and it seems all the ones I could find, that look similar to this, are European and can be worth up to a few hundred dollars! Trouble is, this one is marked Made In Japan!? It's not cheaply made and is heavy enough. I can't make out the maker's or silver marks on the back - they're too tiny for these old eyes! But it's a beauty and a keeper!

While I'm on the subject of strainers . . . here's a lovely little one I have hanging around. I've never seen one like this before - it's so cute! On the side, up near the rim it says Ekco Gem.
Here's a "vintage" bush in my yard. I think it's called Bridal Veil. My grandma had one in her yard many years ago, and when I moved to my present house, there was this one in the back yard! I was so happy! (This is just a branch, not the whole bush!)
Now, ladies (and gents if there are any) don't forget to backtrack to my Monday post this week for details on the New England Bloggers May Day Giveaway, hosted by "our own" Evil Overlord, Elizabeth! Here's what I'm giving away - a nice vintage set of napkins and little tea cups!
Have a great week!
