VTT - A COLORFUL THURSDAY!

I have a variety of items today. The first is an older (70's?) crayon tin made by J. Chein Co., and an old box of Besco anti-roll crayons. Reminds me of first grade in 1961!

Next is an old Woods Burslem plate, Hyde pattern - I fell in love with the colors on this!
Last is the set of Junior Classics books in my bookcase. I'd say they're pretty colorful, too! I used these for home schooling a few years ago - they have such a wonderful assortment of stories. This set was put out by Collier, originally in 1938. I have the 65th printing edition of 1961!
Don't forget to visit Coloradolady for more Vintage Thingies Thursday!

  1. I so remember those crayons. I had forgotten all about them, yours looks like they are in great condition. They remind me of first grade too. Wish I still had mine....no telling what happened to them...maybe melted in the back of the car...oppps....
Great post today, loved your plate too...the colors are great and vibrant.
    Happy VTT.

  2. Oh my goodness, I have those 3 books on the left---they were my absolute favorites when I was little! I love your bookcase, it's so pretty. That tin is really cute, and oh, the memories the fat crayons bring back. I had a friend who got one stuck up her nose!

  3. I love that crayon tin.

I never saw anything with the Besco brand. I'm wondering how they are different from the regular Crayola brand.

  16. Seeing crayons always make me feel young. When I started kindergarten, my teacher put an elephant sticker on the lid of my crayons. Then we moved and the kids at my new school were so jealous of my elephant sticker.
    Thanks for the memory.

  23. The crayon box... it's delightful. How come I never had one of those?

I used to love those anti roll crayons. They made a thumpy noise when you forced them to roll across the desktop. Against all odds.
