VTT - PITCHER THIS!
Okay, I had this post typed and ready to go, then changed my mind. Isn't it great that we women are allowed to do that?! So let's view some Pitchers!
This pretty blue pitcher was a wedding gift to my parents in the late '40's. My mom apparently didn't like it because it was in the attic the whole time they were married! It says Italy on the bottom.
This trio is Anchor Hocking "Wexford" pattern. A 64-oz./1.89-liter pitcher, an 18-oz./.53-liter milk jug, and an 8-oz./236-mL creamer. I also have a covered sugar bowl, a storage jar, and punch bowl/cups.
I have no idea the age of this, but with the lattice and clear green, it reminds me of summer!
A few more "summery" ones - I love these old colorful pitchers, but they're so heavy I wouldn't call them practical.
This is a Haeger pitcher, probably milk. I haven't been able to find info on it yet.
On the bottom of this is printed CERVE, Italy. It has that chalkboard-like feel to it!
These last two are "seasonal" pitchers. The left one has maple, oak, and ? leaves on it, the right one is candy cane striped!
I didn't realize until today how many I had!
Now, let's see what the rest of the gang is showing today over at Suzanne's!
Love your pitchers. We just call them jugs here in Australia, and I have quite a collection too. I love the blue one and the colourful ones the most.
ReplyDeleteI'm green with envy over your pitchers, especially the fruity one and the floral one! Was the blue pitcher the one that started it all?
ReplyDeleteGreat pitchers. Makes me want a glass of fresh squeezed lemonade.
ReplyDeleteGreat pitchers, but I love the chicken one...I am blown away by it..Pssst...I want it....I'm drowling all over my keyboard...

ReplyDeleteI have never seen so many neat pictures. The rooster is my favorite. They all so unique and I am glad you shared them with us.
ReplyDeleteThat happens to me all the time, I never realize how much of something I have until I am ready to do a post.
ReplyDeleteYour pitchers are just wonderful. I love the red and white one. Very cute! These are so pretty, I agree, the light green one looks like summer...just add lemonade.
Happy VTT!

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful collection of pitchers! Impossible to pick a favorite!
ReplyDeleteThe fruit and floral pitchers are my favorites. They're all so pretty.
ReplyDeleteHappy VTT..have a great weekend.
Oh, I really like those Italian pitchers!!
ReplyDeleteL-O-V-E the pitchers!
ReplyDeleteI have quite a few as well..maybe I'll post mine next week.;-)
I love your pitchers! So much color and the stories they could tell!
ReplyDeleteYour mama's wedding gift pitcher from the ATTIC is my fave of the whole lot!!! I like all of them, but that attic treasure is just special!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your pitchers also! I remember seeing tea and lemonade in them growing up and I am always on the lookout for them. I don;t always buy as I have no more room, But I find myself at the thrift store loving the little tiny pitchers for cream for coffee or tea. I do get them when I can;t live without it, but I already have so many packed away.
ReplyDeleteNow the large ones like you show, I would HAVE to buy too! But, the heavy part does make them hard to use for real, I also now like a cover on my pitcher!
Smiles, Cyndi
I'm glad I'm ot the only one with an accumulation of jugs! Yours are very attractive indeed.
