I have this delightful little book that I picked up a while back that I want to share with you. It doesn't state the date of publication but, inside the cover, it is handwritten, "Lydia Haims/Harmes (can't tell) + P. Myer married Oct. 24, 1924". Funny how she didn't write his full first name! Scribbled throughout are names and years of birthdays and weddings.
This next page is what inspired me to post now. The pretty roses on the page reminded me of my Fairy Rose bush so I used it for a backdrop!

What a charming little book! The handwritten entries are the frosting on the cake!
ReplyDeleteThis is a complete treasure. The beauty is not only in the words but in the pictures as well. Enjoy it. Smiles...Renee

ReplyDeleteI don't blame you for wanting to spend more time enjoying this warm summer weather! I sure am happy you stopped to share this precious old book of devotions. The illustrations are very wonderful. I love these old books. I wish they still made them that way! How neat that someone used it as a family record! I agree that your pretty rose bush is a perfect backdrop! They are gorgeous! I wish I had that kind of luck with roses!
