REDNESDAY

Hi everyone! What joy and satisfaction I get when I'm in the garden. I wish I could spend all my waking hours out there! I go out as much as I can to prep the flower beds and curse the deer for walking through them!

Here are my first Primroses - glad one of them is red!



Has any of you traveled down Memory Lane? Or Lovers Lane, for that matter of fact? I've been down each many a time - they're both in my little town of Medway! Katherine's best friend lives on Lovers Lane (when she's not in college).


My favorite house in town is on Lovers Lane. Yellow with green shutters is my favorite house color combo, and this has it, along with an adorable screen door . . . and a red barn/garage!


Memory Lane is closer to my house, off the street that Jade's school is on.


Just thought I'd throw this pic in, too. It's my second favorite house in town. I don't know why, there's really nothing special about it, but I enjoy driving by it four times a day when I take Becky to school and pick her up! When you look at the enlarged pic, you can see the table and stools better that are in the front yard. I don't know if they're stone or faux, but they remind me of mushrooms - so cute!

Thought I'd show you what's blooming in the Spring garden - mostly Primrose (primula) varieties - my favorite!

REDNESDAY - My Barn and Wheelbarrow

Here we are again! See the bottom of this post for Mr. Linky if you want to join in.

What shall I come up with today? How about some outdoorsy photos - seeing that I've been outside every day this past week!

This is our barn. It's very, very old, has a "basement" (with a trap door from the main floor) that used to house chickens (previous owner's and ours), and who's foundation was made out of field stone. The inside has the wide floor boards and hand-hewn timbers - really neat! It's still kinda red; guess it needs a repainting! The flower in the foreground is a Japanese Lily 'Uchida'. How about my red vintage wheelbarrow? I don't know why they don't make 'em like this anymore - the sides come off and slide back in effortlessly, and you don't bump your legs into it as you're walking. I was so excited when Mister brought this home a few years ago, because I had seen an exact same one on the cover of Country Living the year before that!
My favorite flower is Primrose (or Primula). This is a dark red Hose-In-Hose type. I can't get enough of looking at them, they're so beautiful! *Sigh!*

Happy Valentine's Day!

What better way for me to say Happy Valentine's Day than with primroses! I hope you all have a fun, sunshiny day today!

These are the bags I decorated for my two girls. The 16-yr-old is not a girly-girl, guess which bag is hers? The pre-teen says she isn't, but I can get away with pretty decorations for her. These are each filled with a dozen heart-shaped chocolates, two chocolate heart lollipops, and some Japanese erasers in different shapes - donut, ice cream cone, frog, coffee cup, bird, etc.

My Pink Saturday - Primroses!

I bought a little pot of Primroses at the grocery store the other day. This is a yearly ritual for me - the true harbinger of Spring. If I had my choice, I'd purchase dozens of them and put them everywhere! They remind me to get on the ball with my winter sowing and seed ordering.

The Primrose is my favorite flower because there is a nice variety of bright, perky colors to choose from. Just what we need this time of year! And when Spring really does come, the perennial primulas are a sight to behold in my garden. Everyone has their favorite flower, and this is mine! (Here's a shot of some last Spring with my garden gnomess.)

Primrose Posies

Aren't these little crocheted posies so adorable? They remind me of my favorite flower, Primroses. I found them at Annie Design on LolliShops. She's from Ireland. As soon as I saw them I knew what I would do with them. Here is my finished product! I primed the wood box, painted it "Vanilla", then glued on the flowers. The lid is approx. 5" x 6" and the box stands about 3" high. Each posie is 1-1/2" across. I want to get more of them and make a Spring garland.
