I have a variety of items today. The first is an older (70's?) crayon tin made by J. Chein Co., and an old box of Besco anti-roll crayons. Reminds me of first grade in 1961!
Next is an old Woods Burslem plate, Hyde pattern - I fell in love with the colors on this!
Last is the set of Junior Classics books in my bookcase. I'd say they're pretty colorful, too! I used these for home schooling a few years ago - they have such a wonderful assortment of stories. This set was put out by Collier, originally in 1938. I have the 65th printing edition of 1961!
Don't forget to visit Coloradolady for more Vintage Thingies Thursday!

I so remember those crayons. I had forgotten all about them, yours looks like they are in great condition. They remind me of first grade too. Wish I still had mine....no telling what happened to them...maybe melted in the back of the car...oppps....
Great post today, loved your plate too...the colors are great and vibrant.
Happy VTT.
Oh my goodness, I have those 3 books on the left---they were my absolute favorites when I was little! I love your bookcase, it's so pretty. That tin is really cute, and oh, the memories the fat crayons bring back. I had a friend who got one stuck up her nose!
I love that crayon tin.
I never saw anything with the Besco brand. I'm wondering how they are different from the regular Crayola brand.
Wow, I adore that crayon tin. Magic. thanks for stopping by Beach Vintage and leaving a comment. xx
More treasured vintage books & in lovely condition!
Yipee I love the crayons too! I had completely forgot about the big ones - they're great!
AND - A million times yes - from now on my garage will be known as A Memory Room - thank you - wish I could apply a more positive slant to all aspects of life.

Man, I miss the no-roll crayons! Do they still make them? I only teach big kids.

Anti roll crayons! What a great concept! I wish that they still made those:)
I love that pretty plate, nice color indeed.
Ah, the box of fat school crayons. I remember getting one on the first day of school each year in elementary school. Still love a new box of crayons!!
I think I had those 3 books on the left when I was a kid! :)
Those crayons are great. I don't understand the appeal of crayolas, but I know that I'm crazy for them! lol.
Love the old crayons, and books..we have a similar set (or at least part of one) in our homeschool room too.;-)
Great plate!
I don't blame you for falling in love with the colors on the plate. It is simply lovely. I also enjoyed your book collection. I had a baby in my later years that I would love to read stories from these books to him. What a wonderful collection of books...please feature them in another VTT post, they look so charming!
Great crayon box! What are anti-roll crayons? Are they square? :)
Seeing crayons always make me feel young. When I started kindergarten, my teacher put an elephant sticker on the lid of my crayons. Then we moved and the kids at my new school were so jealous of my elephant sticker.
Thanks for the memory.
I loved all your things today..what treasures you have. That plate is just wonderful with all those pretty colors.. Happy VTT, have a great weekend.

Do the crayons have a flat side? I was just wondering because they said "anti-roll." I love those books too, they are such great colors.
What a great collection of books and colors. Very nice post. Also, thank you for leaving a comment on mine. I appreciate it.
I am loving your plate and the books :0)
The crayon box... it's delightful. How come I never had one of those?
I used to love those anti roll crayons. They made a thumpy noise when you forced them to roll across the desktop. Against all odds.
The crayons do bring back memories of Kindergarten and craft time! ~Kelly
