VTT - What Was I Thinking?

I think I have to echo Molly's sentiment this week - "What was HE thinking?"! Mister brings home more darn junk (yes, junk!) than you can imagine. His excuses are - "Well, it was free at the dump . . . on the side of the road . . . the only one left . . . only $5.00 . . . I might need it someday, etc., etc."! Here's a sampling:

Tools at yard sales - ya wanna know how many tools we have in our barn? Tooooooo many!
Miscellaneous odds & ends, like these old bulbs. These are one of those "you never know" type of items.
Chairs. They're his weakness. We could open a chair museum (seriously!). This one happens to be a beauty and I have a piece of fabric to reupholster it with. But one has only so much space in their house for a certain amount of chairs! (Just a side note - the box in the background is a cat "toy". One will go inside and another on top or in front of it, and they paw at each other!)
Books. His other weakness. These are from a set of Grolier Lands and Peoples, 1920's. He has, literally, thousands of books - in the house, basement, barn, and shed. I do like it when he brings home the old ones!
Here's the granddaddy of them all, which makes one really ask, "What were you thinking?"! A piano. It's a nice older one, forget the name, and it's worth something we were told. But . . . no one knows how to play it, and it takes up valuable space in the living room! Mister says that maybe someday someone might want to learn how to play it. NOT!
Me? I never bring home anything that's not valuable or useable! I'm a perfect little angel!
Now, scurry over to Suzanne's to see what other nonsense is in store for you today!

I have a thing for chairs too! I never sit in any of them either:) If I want to read a book I usually just sit on my bed!

I agree and second all the previous comments. Since I chair cane or seat weave I probably have way too many chairs. Would love to have the piano taking up space at my house! LOL

PS. Aren't cats funny about boxes? Mine love them or just an paper grocery bag. :) Ruby

I really thought I signed in for Rednesday but do not see me??

Hi there, I am hosting a book swap over on my blog. It is a permanent feature, which will always be on my blog, it is not a one off, like the rose theme swap I'm hosting. I have listed a load of my books which I am willing to swap, take a look, there may be some you fancy. If you would like to list books which you no longer want, and are willing to swap, just contact me at rosehyacinth@hotmail.co.uk, or leave a comment on my blog, with your name, the name of your blog and the books you wish to swap, and I will type them up and post them on the swap page, so the more and more people who participate, the wider the range of books there will be to choose from, and remember, it will always be there on my blog.
Take Care
Love Melanie xxx

Love your post today. My dh buys books and we have boxes and boxes he hasn't looked at for 20 years. Sigh. I gave up on that subject. We do have to humor the man of the house. (sometimes)I love the angel!

Hugs...Jeanne
