Today I'm going to share some Christmas images that you might like to use!

Welcome to another Autumn Rednesday! Did you see on my right sidebar that I won ImagiMeri's giveaway? I'm so thrilled! She will make a statue based on a picture that I chose. Her work is awesome! Go check her out!

I did a bit of yard sale-ing and thrift shopping this past weekend. At my fave thrift shop I found these three vintage ornament boxes - and this was on Monday! Don't know why nobody scooped them up over the weekend, but they're mine now! Although I did have to do a bit of taping and glueing.


These are the other reds I picked up ~ a length of Pokemon "Pikachu" flannel fabric for Katherine, two little elves, a 1969 Snoopy mouth harp (which will go on my Etsy), and a Meakin red transferware mug (this makes #3, so I now have yet another official collection!).

Now, personally, I don't celebrate Halloween, but I do love all the vintage graphics! I found this through Google a while ago (forget where) and thought of all you Halloween decorators and just knew you'd like to have it for a label! (yeah, I know it's more orange than red!)


Last, I have a silly little photo of pretty birds eating out of a wheelbarrow! This is a live feed camera in Australia called Backyard Galah Cam. They have the prettiest birds Down Under! It's about 2:00 a.m. there as I'm typing this at noon EST. I took this photo earlier this week.

I had picked up a book called The Children's Book of Bible Stories, 1945, at a yard sale. The presentation and title pages are so pretty, with their illuminated work, that I edited out the handwriting and rearranged a few words on the title page. That way you can use them for whatever you like! I kept them in their original scanned sizes.

Greetings friends! I have to write a little "disclaimer" here first. Mister and I don't celebrate Halloween, for personal religious reasons. I do enjoy all the orange and black Halloween graphics, though! The familiar cat-on-a-pumpkin above is from an antique Halloween card that I edited to make it more generic. I just love the expression! Here it is without the words (notice I took the point off the hat) ~

VTT - BABY TIME AND A HISTORY LESSON!

I'm joining Vintage Thingies Thursday over at ColoradoLady's (Suzanne) blog!

My brother in Tennessee called the other day to announce that he and Yami (Yamileth, from Panama) are expecting their second child! Their first, Esperanza is 8. She was worried that, at age 34, she might be too old to have another child. Ha! I had mine at 38 and 42, and I survived (barely)!

So, in keeping with that theme, I'm showing you two items that were "found" recently.
The Curity sachet, which is no longer scented, was found in a vintage book I have. Curity diapers were made by The Kendall Company (Walpole, Mass.). My parents met at Kendall Mills back in the late 40's; and I also worked there my first job out of high school - Steno Pool and Switchboard! A Steno Pool, for you youngsters out there, was a big room of typists who copied dictation, letters, reports, etc. in larger companies, like this:

Now, back to the baby photo again. Mister found the little bottle in the barn a few days ago, filled with screws. He asked if I wanted it - duh! It says: "The original and largest diaper service in New England, Dy-Dee Service, See 'Yellow Pages' for local phone number". I have no idea what it held, maybe lotion or safety pins.

Oh, you don't know what a diaper service is either? Well, back in the day (at least up through the 60's) this is how it worked: you collect your dirty (cloth) diapers, set them outside once a week, and receive a fresh stack of fluffy white diapers in their place. No messing with smelly diaper laundry.

I have no idea if there are any of these services still in business or not.

The atheists had their holiday a few days ago - oh, you were unaware of that? Let me explain . . .

April Fool's Day? How did that become an atheist holiday?

An atheist is a person who does not believe in God, right? Well, in the Bible, Psalm 14:1 says,
"The fool says in his heart, 'There is no God.' " Sooo, doesn't that make April 1st their holiday?
