THE YOUTH'S COMPANION, 1905

The Youth's Companion, New England Edition - an early 20th century magazine published by Perry Mason Company (ha, ha!), Boston, MA. We have a 1900 and a 1905 edition. They're full of delightful ads and articles that I've scanned to share with you from time to time.

I just love the illustrations from this one - and thought they are much better than the actual article.

Coffee anyone? This does NOT sound appetizing to me, but it's "good for children in school"!
EDIT: I was going to add more to this, but my computer is acting up - so I guess that leaves more for another time! I hope you enjoy these ones!

Oh how sweet are these? I love the pumpkin graphic to the left of the Market Farm and Home title. It is so beautiful. I cannot even imagine wheat coffee. That does not sound good, but maybe it would tast better?? Na, I don't think so, I am not buying it all. Thanks for sharing. I love old Farmer's Almanacs too. They are very interesting to browse through. Love the cherries you know, so stop by and see what I did over the weekend. See ya soon. Country hugs, Sherry

Love old ads, don't you?
Wheat coffee...ugh. Remember Postum? We drank that as kids, but can't imagine why, now??
Love posts like this.
Hope all is well in your world.

That wheat "coffee" is healthful! Honestly! My relatives drank all sorts of charred grains. Hmm...

You are going to see that pumpkin graphic again soon, dearie...thanks for posting it!
