VTT - HEAVY METAL (NO, JUST TIN!)

Hooray, it's Thursday! I love old stuff! (Teen says, "I hate Thursdays - Science tutor!")

Here's a two-in-one that I picked up at an antique store here in town. I love this retro plant stand - think I might paint it red! The large biscuit tin is adorned with hollyhocks and a picket fence!
In general, I'm not a "blue" person, but I like it to intersperse with my reds. This tray was purchased with the above, might be part of a child's tea set. The border attracted me, not the color - it's so "suburban"!
Have a great VTT everyone! For those of you not familiar with VTT, it stands for Vintage Thingies Thursdays, where we get to show off our vintage items. It is hosted by Suzanne at Coloradolady.blogspot.com!

Oh Sue!
I so love this metal plant stand. I too would paint it red. It would really pop. I have lots of my furniture outside painted red, that sits around the pool area. Looks so festive and all.

I reall love the tin. Hollyhocks are some of my favs. I remember Moma making us dolls from her hollyhocks that were planted along the back fence of our yard. Thank you for the memory this morning.

I agree this little tray may have been part of a child's tea set. Is is not precious. I love blue so that is something I too, would have purchased. They look so pretty behind things against the wall, or displayed on a table or chair, with a little special something sitting on it.

Thanks for sharing this morning. Country hugs, Sherry

Old tins are so amazing! Its like everything was done with the intention of being around a long time not just being a piece of junk. Like uh...now!

Lovely tin and the tray, now that was in everyone's kitchen back in the day. Most of my female relatives had one or two serving trays like this that was always in use.

Yes, paint the plant stand red, or spray with a red laquer. I think that would look so great!

I don't go for blue either, but both of these items today, are cool. The older the better, and these are dandy.

I just love your blog. I am now officially a Follower. I saw all the lovely vintage cherry patterns around your blog and was thinking of you because I just sold the most adorable vintage juice glasses with cherry pattern. I love cherries too. So, be sure to check the boutique every now and then for when I list vintage cherries.

I love blue and intersperse reds, LOL. All you have is neat. The plant stand looks like what we had to hold firewood in, with extra racks in the middle. They were pretty creative with that metal ring design, huh.
I'm here late today, but better late than never! :)

I adore that plantstand! I've been eyeballing one for a year now at an antique store, but I just can't justify the $40 price tag! And that tin! Oh my, you've got a knack for finding great old tins!
Happy VTT!
