THE CHRISTMAS GIFTS

Greetings all! I'm tired! Christmas day was busy morning, afternoon, and night! I must have caught a slight bug from someone because Sunday and Monday I was physically exhausted (and a little queazy) and didn't feel like doing a thing - so I didn't, except for watch t.v. and read mostly. I feel back on track today; ready and raring to blog!

I'm surprised there are still leftover sweets! My sister made red velvet cupcakes - yum!

I was only expecting some token gifts from the kids as we're still "poor" this season! But Mister surprised me with a few things. Two new pairs of garden shears (someday I'll get the Felco ones!). He also stopped at an antique store and got some thread spools (darning silks).

. . . and some pretty linens. The green one says "gilding the lilies"!

. . . and a whole slew of antique postcards! Most are Christmas, and the rest are Easter and general. I'll have to scan them.

Finally, his mother found me this set of cherries plates at an antique store. I know nothing about them since the label is torn off one plate, and the rest don't have one.

My cupcake-making sister gave us a nice set of knives, but Mister deemed them too sharp for the kitchen and, thus, relegated them to the bottom of the basement stairs. (Don't ask!)

I'll see you tonight/tomorrow for Rednesday!

I'm sorry, but I have to do it. What's up with the knives at the bottom of the stairs?!! Love all of your pretty linens, and I can't wait to see some of those postcards!
