REDNESDAY - STEVE IRWIN AND NEEDLES

Okay, that title sparked your interest, I'm sure! Back in the Fall, Teen picked up a Steve Irwin (The Crocodile Hunter) action figure at the thrift shop. Needless to say, he's getting around the house - we're finding him in all different places, poses, and holidays! So we're keeping a little photo folder called "Around the House with Steve Irwin"! Yesterday, Teen put him on the shelf over my computer with a reminder note about the SAT's. Crickey! We'd better get moving on those!

Now we come to the Needles part. Mister had these vintage sewing needle cases tucked away and gave them to me last year. They're beautiful . . . and red!

Look how, on this package, it lists the different kinds of needles and their uses. I like the one called "Betweens"!
Oh, by the way, next Wednesday is St. Patrick's Day - I wonder if we can come up with some Irish red for Rednesday!

Crickey, that Steve Irwin doll gets around, and I bet you discover him in all kinds of weird places!
Those needle packages are just gorgeous. I don't know why they can't make pretty things like this today, instead of the boring packages things come in!
Happy REDnesday!

Do you think people will reminisce about today's packaging like we do now? I just can't see it happening. So enjoy these beautiful packages from a time gone by. Your husband must be a real sweetie for giving these to you.

Happy Rednesday!

really like the red needle packs, goodness they are vintage. I remember having an old needle package I found in my Mom's sewing machine, "junk" drawer. Wonder what I ever did with it?...hummm.
I love the Steve doll and what a great way to use him.

I love vintage sewing items and I look for them at estate sales because i like to display them on Hubby's grandmother's antique Singer sewing machine that is in my craft/Sewing room. I enjoyed seeing these and I got a chuckle out of the "betweens".

When I saw Steve Irwin holding that SAT note, I burst out laughing. That's just too cleaver and funny! Those antique sewing packets are wonderful. What a treasure!

By the way, I entered the first MckLinky incorrectly. Sometimes I am in too big a hurry to do it correctly the first time. Number 25 is a dead link, but 26 is correct. Thanks for hosting Rednesday. It's a favorite of mine!

Love,
Susan and Bentley

Count me in for next week. I love decorating my jadite dishes with red accents. I think that would be perfect for Irish Red. By the way I love the needle boxes. I collect anything old sewing related items. Those are nice.

Lordy girl red on St. Pat's is EASY -- just show some Irish locks, those folks tend to have a lot of redheads amongst 'em...tee hee...

Love your needles..."eye'd" love to some "sew" much.

Enjoyed seeing the old sewing needles. I think I might have some old ones from my mother's sewing box -- I need to find them in this giant haystack!

Thanks for hosting -- I had all manner of trouble (no signal) today.

Hi Sue,

I love the needle case and I love the red on it. I laughed when I saw the Steve Irwin doll. It is kind of sad someone didn't want him anymore, but I am glad you made a new home for him. I think he likes that he is being useful as a messenger, and exploring new areas of your home. Thanks for hosting a great party. By the way any words of encouragement regarding my first blog party? I am getting kind of anxious with the McLinky thing.
Hugs,
Carey

Next trip to the resale shop I will have to pay more attention to the action figures. I love the idea of having one hold the messages. And having a guy thing around would surely earn brownie points with the hubby.

Thank for the visit and lovely comment on my wild palm trees.

Sue,
I just wanted to stop by and let you know, I use a tape runner for scrapbooking...it works perfect, any kind of glue makes it yuky! The paper doesn't like "wet". I ggot my taperunner at Joann's but you can get them at Wal-Mart too and they are cheaper and they carry the refills! Have a good Thursday! :)
