PRE-TEEN'S PARTY

Two posts in one day? Sure, why not!

I'm sad, very sad indeed. Pre-Teen is no more. She done went and had a birthday on me yesterday. Now she's 13! What should I call her now? How's this sound?

Nah, not quite right. Hmmmm. Teen is 17-1/2, so she'll stay Teen. I don't know . . . I suppose I could call her by her real name - Becky!

Being all Aspy and everything (Asperger's Syndrome), she didn't want anything for gifts; and didn't want to go anywhere or do anything. So she just had her cousin sleep over, then I took them to Friendly's Family Restaurant for lunch. She and Teen watched The Princess and the Frog last night (I was very disappointed in that movie), and I made a cake.

Oh, and we had a special visitor ~

The Steve Irwin (Crocodile Hunter) action figure, from our family's "Around the House with Steve Irwin" escapades!

Wow. Don't know about the Steve Irwin thing, he always creeped me out a bit. But it looks like a lovely celebration. I love the cake! So festive and colorful. Also, isn't this precisely what the word tween is for? Upgrade Teen to Tween and make the pre-Teen the new Teen. Not confusing at all. :)

How about Teen and Teenlet?

Oh, those Aspies. My son never wanted a cake. Or rather, a few times he wanted a cake, to have the cake, not to eat the cake. Just to briefly VIEW the cake. Then it could go in the trash, for all he cared. He wasn't about to eat a bite of it.

*sigh* Well, we love 'em just the same!

Happy Birthday to your Becky! And I was wondering where that Steve Irwin was, because he hasn't popped up in a long time!
Hey, what did you think of the LOST finale? I think no matter how they ended it, it couldn't possibly live up to the hype. I sure didn't enjoy watching Jack die. Definitely brought the waterworks on for me!
Happy Monday!

Steve had me giggling today! Congratulations on this tremendous milestone! I am working once again with my very favorite "Aspy" young man this next week who has been successfully hired at a most amazing company that recycles computers. He is so excited about the job, but he worried to death about eating lunch. What will he bring, where will he put it, does he half to eat with other employees. My job will be to help him with this new transition. I like to think of myself as Steve Irwin because each and every day I work is the most amazing adventure with the most amazing individuals! All the best to your daughter as she enters her teen years! Elizabeth
