WHAT A WEEKEND!

Yeah I think I'll make me some homemade soup
Feelin pretty good and that's the truth
It's neither drink nor drug induced
No I'm just doin alright

And it's a great day to be alive
I know the sun's still shinin when I close my eyes
There's some hard times in the neighborhood
But why can't every day be just this good?

Lyrics from "It's A Great Day To Be Alive", sung by Travis Tritt

This was one of those weekends where the temp was just right, the sun was shining with a gentle breeze, and all seemed right with the world. Thus the song lyrics -go down my right-hand column and you'll see a link to the song on YouTube.

I took Teen to her after-prom party at midnight and, yes, I did have to go get her at 5:30 a.m.! Couldn't go back to sleep, so hung out until the yard sales started at 8:00. Hit four and got some odds and ends.

Got some books and a video (the one with the glare is The Twilight Zone - for Teen) ~

The Charlie Brown is a first edition, but looks like someone pounded the cover with a hammer. I took it anyway just for nostalgia's sake; plus, I collect vintage Christmas books. The red one, Rise Up and Walk, is from the 50's and is all about polio. That peaked my curiosity, especially since I was told that I had a trace of polio in my knee as a baby and it went away by itself. (Thank you, God!)

Some little hard plastic birdy picks and a ceramic bird (made by Wade, England for Red Rose Tea) ~

Some rub-on letters, poster putty, 3-D dots, and laminating sheets ~

A few other things that I'll show this week, especially on Rednesday! Hope you're having a pleasant Monday - I am!

Ouch! I cannot imagine even opening my car door at 5:30am let alone driving at that hour so I applaud you for being such a good mom! I wouldn't be able to sleep after an interrupted sleep either and a few good yard sales are enough to make the early wake-up call worthwhile. Love, love the birdies! What are you going to do with them? Put them in planters to cheer up the flowers?

I love your yard sale finds. That Charlie Brown book was one of my favorites as a kid.
