JULY TAG-ALONG AND FREEBIES

Here's my July Tag-Along! I had to include, of course, something patriotic; along with thoughts of the beach, amusement parks, and Kool-Aid for these hot summer days!

Below is the plate in the background, from the US Bicentennial. It was a freebie today. Mister went to a yard sale Saturday. The couple was British and are moving back across the Pond to the Mother Land. Somehow or another Mister offered to help the guy with moving stuff. So the guy called this morning and said we could have all the leftover yard sale stuff if we wanted, in return for Mister helping him move a couch and table.

This plate certainly qualifies as vintage, so I'll hook up to Vintage Thingies Thursdays with it!

He came home with three truck loads full! Most of the stuff we weren't interested in, but I took some books, the plate, some tea cups, a tea pot, some pants for Becky, and a few other odds and ends ~ and this metal wall hanging that's perfect for yard art.
He took the rest of the stuff to two different thrift shops. It was a fun day, but lots of work going through two huge black plastic bags of stuffed animals, and five same bags of clothing!

Love the bicentennial plate. What a good guy you must have to help out these folks. Glad you got some fun stuff out of it.

I remember the bicentennial quite well! It was my first time in the U.S. for a vacation.

The metal hanging is quite beautiful. Your husband did a good deed and was rewarded for it.

Happy VTT!

Sue,
What a nice "mister" you got there. Sounds like a "keeper".
I'm liking the outside wall art thingy. I'd grow some vines on it.
Thanks for sharing. ;-)

That plate is great. It reminds be of my Bicentennial bicycle. I had to have it and hated it as soon as the 4th was over :). I just love the wall art. Happy 4th!

What fun items you found. I have a wonderful collection of plates my mother started me on. Yes I agree with your comments about driving the family around, doing blogging, doing chores and work and crafts oh my -- sometimes I think I am going in circles..

You have a lovely blog, and I will spend more time looking -- oh love that vinette you did on the mantle.

Have a lovely 4th of July.
