REDNESDAY - STRAWBERRIES & SANTA

Finally! After lusting over all your strawberries this past month, mine have, at last, ripened. Becky is happy as a clam - this is one of her all-time favorite foods! So she always gets the lion's share!

This 1948 book was my mother's - my sister gave it to me recently. My Christmas book collection has a new addition!

How lucky you are to be able to pick your own strawberries, because you know those beauties are fresh! We went to a little strawberry festival over the weekend, and we ate lots of shortcake and cookies and salsa and everything imaginable that you could make with strawberries!
Your Santa book is wonderful, and what a great family heirloom it is!
Happy REDnesday!

Our wild strawberries are just starting to turn red - and the wild bunnies are making sure they claim them first!
You are very lucky to have received such a great Santa book, and lots of sentimanetal value too.

Strawberries mean the beginning of summmer to me....love them fresh, the season is ALWAYS too short, and love to make freezer jam for winter eating. Thank you for so graciously hosting Rednesday!

Those fresh strawberries look delicious. Great new strawberry REDnesday banner button, too. We have an entire collection of red vintage books from my father in law. It's nice to read them knowing that he read them too. I collect Christmas books too (and videos). :-)

What a great book! I'm surprised your sister parted with it! Then again, she has to know how much you would cherish it!

The strawberries look so yummy! We are settling for store bought! On the bright side, we will be able to pick wild raspberries soon!

The U Pick farms are in full swing for berry pickin. We keep watchin the blackberry thickets all over the area. They are full of blooms this year and sooooo many right along the highways...which means folks will pull off to the side of the roads and go pickin....it's public domain....woohoo.
Love the vintage book, bet the illustrations are great.
Have a cherriluscious Day!

I bought a half of flat of fresh road side berries, (six little baskets)they were huge and juicy, not very sweet, but nicely flavorful, and they were all gone by dinner time that same day.

Hi Sue!
Thank you again so much for hosting.
You lucky! I tried to grow strawberries last year - we eat them like there's no tomorrow - and I had all of one berry. Too funny! I felt so defeated that I didn't try again this year but now you've got me inspired.
OH! I love the cover of your Santa book - hoping we'll get some peeks inside. :)
Happy Rednesday,
Sally

Just answering your question on my spindlecottage blog. The iced tea pitcher is modern. I purchased it a year or so ago at Kmart. I have seen them elsewhere too. ;-)

I love strawberries anyway you fix them. My sister has a little patch as she is so thrilled to be able to pick hers like you. I do not cook much anymore to use the, but sure can eat them otherwise.

Mmmmm . . . strawberries; the best! Yours look fabulous.

I'd love a peek inside that Santa book. How lovely that it was your Mom's -- that makes it doubly special.

I am so honored to be on your blog still. Thank you.

Those strawberries look incredible. Nothing like fresh strawberries. No store bought kind can do them justice. I need you as a neighbor.

BTW, got the banner and it is awesome! Thank you! Thank you!

I am so disappointed I did not manage to get my name on your linky list. Not until Vicki at Cherry Chick taught me how to do it, I was in the dark. I follow your blog, and when I saw she had won the giveaway, I commented with a congrats to her and to you on your blog. Thought that put my name on the list, but guess I just goofed up. Just wanted to let you know that I am participating and have done my entry for two Wednesdays, now. It is just so much fun!
