REDNESDAY - WORKS OF ART!

Welcome everyone! Today I'm going to show you a few things that I've made recently.

The first is my postcard for Creative Breathing's "Wish You Were Here" Tag Swap. The participants make postcards representing the state they live in.

I lucked out because I'm not just from Massachusetts, but also the only one from New England - so I had a lot of options. Which, actually, wasn't such a good thing. At first I was going to make one with a little pic of something from each of the six NE states, but that proved too difficult, especially on a postcard! Then I found I was having the same problem with my state - so much to choose from ~ the mountains, seashore/islands, camping, sports (we have professional teams in baseball, hockey, football, basketball, and soccer), history (pilgrims, Paul Revere, Salem witch trials, etc.), education (Harvard, MIT, etc.), Boston.

So I had to stop and think what I, personally, like best about MA, and what comes to mind when it's mentioned. Well, my mind kept going back to my childhood days of summers on the Cape at my cousin's house - so that was my inspiration! And I guarantee, like the song says, you'll fall in love with Cape Cod!
(photo courtesy of Elizabeth from Creative Breathing, because I forgot to take a shot!)

The second creation is this little accordian photo thingy I made. Feel free to copy my idea!

I am very interested in seeing what you all have for this week!

I always knew you were clever and crafty but you've blown my socks off with these! Saw your postcards at Creative Breathing and they just look so perfect. Makes me want to book reservations to Massachusetts right now! And I can't even begin to tell you how absolutely adorable your little accordian booklet is! I would much rather be making that then all the little chores so cutely illustrated. Great work!

This set of post cards is the cutest ever. I used to make individual one years ago, but nothing like these. Anything vintage excites me. They are absolutely precious....you must have had the time of your life putting them together....hugs, Genie

Hi--I am originally from New England too!! I spent all my childhood growing up in Somers, CT which is right near Springfield, Ma. My sister and her family live in our family home there still! We had a place in Warren , Vt where we spent many weekends (most weekends from grade 6 up). My Uncle had a place in Old Lyme CT right on the beach where we spent tons of weekends too. I actually was born in Springfield because it was the closest hospital. My daughter was born in Northhampton (spelling?) Ma. because we lived in that area for a short while. My only experience with Cape Cod was a camping vacation where we ran into some bees! Love your card and love your ...what I would call..."to do list" ;-) . All so cute.

Cute little cards. The little Weekday poem is one I remember fondly from my childhood. My mom had dish towels with the saying for each day on a towel for that day.
I also feel in love with Cape Cod and Nantucket 30 years ago after my first visit. Being a Texas girl, I don't get to visit each summer though I wish I could.
Thanks for hosting Rednesday. ~ Sarah

Sue! Give it up! Where on earth is your blog name? I have searched and searched your card. I have it in a special spot in my craft room, it truly is my very favorite, I just love it! Is it on the record label? I can't squint enough to read what is there. Your little fold out book is sweet as can be. I just love your paper art! Elizabeth

I dream about creating so many more crafts than I actually produce. When Elizabeth first posted her 'Wish You Were Here' postcard swap, I began dreaming what I would make if I were in the swap. And somehow, you have created that postcard I dreamed of. Mine would have featured Cape Cod, would have a map, would picture shoreline, and would quote Patti Page's sweet song. (Did you find the Patti Page web site?) It's like you read my mind! I was just blown away when I saw Elizabeth's post yesterday and there were you fabulous postcards. Great job!

Dear Sue, I have misplaced the address label from your tags. Could you please e-mail it to me at elizabeth.andrus@yahoo.com I have just one other person's tags to receive, and then will be ready to post tags. Thank you so very much for your wonderful contribution. It has been such a pleasure scrapping with you! Elizabeth
