NEW PLANTER IDEA

I was blog hopping this morning, and ran across Deborah Jean's Dandelion House blog. She's a fellow Bay Stater and has one gorgeous garden! I just had to share this planter idea of hers - I think it's so unique, and thrifty!
Look at that beautiful black organic soil!

Now, get to work and see what kind of containers this inspires you to use! And, by all means, go visit Deborah Jean!

Hi Sue!
Oh my goodness.. there it is!
Thank you so much for stopping by little ole blog, leaving me a nice note and showing my sink garden to your readers! You know, we are always dragging things home and this sink was in our shed for the longest time with the intention that we would use it inside when we re-modeled one of our bathrooms, but I was inspired when I saw a sink like this one in a magazine, ( yep, this is not my original idea) on cape cod! I loved it and knew just what to do with our rescued sink! I clipped the picture out of the magazine article and tucked it into my inspiration garden journal for safe keeping!
So nice to meet you!

Deborah Jean

Wow I would never have thought of that but what a great idea! I do have a outdoor firepot= looks like a big clay bowl, that I haven't used and I thought about making that a planter. Maybe I will just have to do that now that I saw this idea...
Have a super weekend Sue..

Oh, do I love those sinks. Always wanted one.
Sue, I noticed about the 4 cats, the color scheme thing, the Mister title (I've always called him that...and I thought I was original), plus our favorite book is the Bible. We surely have a LOT in common.

Hi Sue,
What a great post! LOVE those sinks!

I wanted to tell you that I have a challenge open right now (thru Sunday night.) It's so inspiring...the ladies are amazing...

All I ask is for people to post their favorite Bible verse and link it up...I hope you'll join us...

It's on my blog I Owe it All to Him at
http://Ioweitalltohim.blogspot.com

It's very nice meeting you and THANK YOU for
the comment on my steps...This week, I'm trying to figure out if I am linking up a beautiful red picnic basket, a darling wagon, or a shiny red tin bucket...You've even got my husband looking for ideas!!! He said we should dye the dog red...lol
Thought you'd love that little bit of humor!
Hugs,
Cindy

Hi Sus! I love the sink planter. My favorite thing is to use unexpected containers for outside plants. Once at a flea market a vendor had a 1930-40 wringer washer for sale for $35 I would have loved to get it and fill it with bright red geraniums, but I passed since we didn't have any way to get it back home. Two years ago I found a vintage 40-50's Tappen stove on the curb of someone's house at the bottom of our street. I stopped and asked how much. The lady said I could have it for frree if I could haul it...just my price range ;) Went home got Jim and brought it home. Some day it's gonna be a large flower pot, serving buffet, table outside on a patio.

I have an old porcelain sink much like this one that I plan to make into a planter. Now if I could just get my soil to be that black and rich.
