REDNESDAY - RED HOT SUMMER!

Welcome to the Dog Days of Summer! Everything is red hot where I live this week!

I'll start with this little milking stool that Mister picked up recently.

Then I'll move on to these cute little ramekins (I think) from the 40's that I thrifted.

My 6-year-old friend, Jade, that I watch wanted to do crafts last week - so we made name bracelets. Of course mine was red! Hers was pink, her fave color.

As I mentioned, it's been HOT here this week. These are my two favorite cups for ice water ~ a stainless travel mug, and a Cath Kidston cup. I love to guzzle ice water in the summer!

Lastly, my poor red rosebush! I have no idea what happened to it, but it's doing awful. Early on some bugs ate the leaves, maybe that's what started it. Hopefully next year it will bounce back.

Your turn now!

It's hotter than a hot tamale here too! Those ramekins are super cute, and Mister did real good, bringing home that stool. Stay cool, Sue!
Happy REDnesday!

My mini roses are looking a lot like that and I have no idea why???

Superb bracelet.

I have been told to wipe down the leaves and greenery around roses with a dilute soapy mixture. Not sure why or if it will help.

Hi Sue!
Oh my gosh, I adore your ramekins. Those are the cutest!
And your day of crafting with Jade gave me such a smile - love your bracelet.
I'm so sorry about your rose. We stink at roses over here, so no advice ... we have gorgeous flowers but the leaves are bothered terribly by something evil! ;)
Happy Rednesday,
Sally

Hi Sue~ I'm sorry to see and read about your rosebush, wish I could be of help but as lovely as rosebushes are, they scare me...so dainty, I'm afraid I would do one in the week after planting it!
I'm really liking your cute, cute bracelet.
Also, I'm sure that I would be drinking lots of water and tea out of your polka dot mug. : )
Thanks for hosting such a fun meme...lately it seems to be the only one I can squeeze into my packed days.
Fondly,
Ann

Sue, the soapy mixture dogsmom mentions is to kill aphids and other bugs. Harvest ea. and every bloom for your vases, and keep trimming back throughout the summer. As long as it's not something eating the roots, your rosebush should grow back all the stronger.

That little edelweiss stool is quite pretty. You found some nice cups/ramekins too.

Darling little Dutch-looking stool your Mister found you. I like the vintage ramekins, too. Your rose blooms such a beautiful red. Did you know that banana peels around the base of the bush will do away with aphids? (just in case that's been the problem). Hope it does better - and that your weather cools down!

That milking stool is just the cutest. Our husband has great taste too! I wish mine would bring me something as nice! The best surprise gift he ever gave me was a pair of Keds tennis shoes with the baseball lacing. This was probably 16 years ago. I didn't even know he knew my size!

Have a lovely day ~
