I've been wanting to post all week, but have been spending every available daylight minute in the garden. I just love Fall gardening! The cooler weather makes it just right for digging in the dirt. Every Fall I'm moving my plants around - it's like moving furniture, I can't help it!
Yesterday (Saturday) morning Teen and I slipped away to go to a neighboring town's library book sale. We had lots of fun! Here's what I got:
The Hans Brinker book is from 1945. Let's Go to the Capitol is from 1959 - I just love the cover!
I also picked up a Garden Magic book - the one on the right. This edition is 1941; the smaller one is 1947. Now I have two! The second photo shows the cover of the smaller one.
Teen's books were an eclectic mix of Manga (Japanese cartoon/comics), The Green Lantern, a kids book about a bunny (she likes cute bunnies), Transformers, Pokemon, and two Sociology books - why? She said Sociology looked interesting! LOL!

I love books and always look for them. You really found some good one's!! Love that gorgeous sunflower!
I love to go to our library book sales...but I have to get there early before the “antique” books on quilting and embroidery are gone. I also love to buy old children’s books. It looks like you all did really well. Then your ending the post with your beautiful sunflower was fo colorful.

Yea for Sociology! My major and favorite subject!
I love Fall gardening too. No sweating and fewer mosquitoes!
I like the cover of the Garden Magic book. It's what I wish my garden looked like!
What a find! Old gardening books are the best I think....chock full of great advice! You know so much about it too....since moving South...I feel like a dunce anymore...everything is so different here when it comes to gardening and the soil...well...let's just say raised beds are the ONLY way to go around here! I know what you mean about moving plants, dividing and "redistributing"....all for FREE! Happy Fall!
