MY BUSY BOX

I know that many of you are familiar, or friends, with Elizabeth of Bluebird Papercrafts (formerly Creative Breathing). She makes such wonderful and cute little crafts and projects! And "E" is so generous with sharing her pictures and ideas, too. I recently used one of her creations as inspiration for one of my own.

This is Elizabeth's Shadow Box ~
Stunning, isn't it?

And this is my version ~

I call it my "busy box" because it has so many cubbies that it keeps your eyes busy! I used a box that held some Melissa & Doug craft items (the beads that I spelled Merry Christmas with). These boxes are awesome! Whenever I see them at thrift shops and yard sales, I scoop them up!
I painted it white with red trim, and then started to find little things in my craft stash to use. With so many squares, it took quite some time to match papers and trinkets to my satisfaction. But, I'm quite pleased with it! Of course, I put a random cherry paper in near the bottom right - not Christmasy, but I don't care!

This was so much fun - thanks for the inspiration, Elizabeth!

Now I'm working on a decoupaged jewelry box for my niece's present. Another "borrowed" idea from Magpie Ethel! I'll show it to you in a few days when I'm finished with it. (Yes, I know, I still haven't finished my December tag-along - maybe this afternoon . . . )

Reeeeeally cute, Sue, and every bit as stunning as Elizabeth's! As soon as I saw hers, I knew I wanted to make one too. I started it several weeks ago, but unfortunately I've had to put it aside and I don't think I'll get to finish it until next year!

Oh Sue! They are both just as cute as they could possibly be. Each unique and both perfect for you and Elizabeth. Just charming.

I've got a wooden house shaped 'box' that I've been wanting to do something like this with. I've been thinking about putting in family pictures and special trinkets. Thanks for sharing.

Oh Sue! Forgive me for not recognizing you by Susan! This busy box is absolutely wonderful! It makes me want to make another! So clever to look for sorting boxes. I will definitely keep my eyes open. Thank you for all that you inspire, all your red. and just every wonderful thing you share with us! Merry Christmas! Elizabeth

PS I should let my readers know, Bluebird Papercrafts is when I Paper craft, Creative Breathing everything else! LOL, I confuse myself! E
