REDNESDAY
Welcome to Rednesday! It's good to see you all here this week! May has been a cloudy, rainy, cool month here - it's usually always the best month of the year. But, yesterday when I was checking the weather report for the week, I noticed that it would be around 80F/27C all week. With all the moisture you know humidity abounds, too! So I called the groomer's to make Calico her yearly appointment for a hair cut and, luckily, they had first thing this morning available. Just in time! If I can get her to pose for me, I'll take a pic to show you. Meanwhile, . . .
Mister picked up this Red Rock Cola bottle a while ago, and it's a perfect companion for a broken Bridal Wreath branch.
There's a new cat in town. An antique cat, to be precise! I stopped in there today and I love it! I told the woman there that I'm ready to move right in! I took a few pics on my cell phone but, can I find an adapter cord around the house to fit my phone? Noooo! So I'll have to go back sometime with my real camera - it's just about 1/2 mile from the Middle School! :)
I was dismayed to find the place a bit pricey, but picked up a few smaller items. This cute kid-sized slotted spoon ($3) and a pretty, pretty powder tin ($8). The bottom of the tin says, "This soft, fragrant powder is one of the important toilet essentials of the truly dainty woman." Well, I ain't exactly dainty, but I love the tin!
The veterans groups in the town beside mine, Holliston, MA, puts up posters and flags for fallen soldiers from the Iraq/Afghanistan wars. They're attached to telephone poles on Route 16, which runs through the center of the town (which has 3 or 4 antique stores and a general store - just thought I'd mention that!). They do this for Memorial Day and Veterans Day.
A few days ago I noticed three British flags, and am very proud that the veterans honor others' fallen and not just our own.

So exciting to have a new shop open up! So many of them around here have closed their doors. LOVE all of the flags honoring the fallen soldiers.
Happy REDnesday,
Carol
I love this tribute to the soldiers.. Very touching.
A nice tribute to our veterans. The town is doing a great job. More places need to get involved. You did well on the new store shopping.
Such a fun post. I especially loved all the lovely flags! Perfect timing for Memorial Day!
Nice pictures. LG tina
Great finds! I think it's wonderful that the Veteran's group puts up names of the fallen soldiers and that they honor those from other countries as well. Belated Happy Birthday to Becky!!

Well, Sue, it has been a long time since I've visited your lovely "cherry" world. But a sweet blogging friend - Cindy of Cindy's Whimsical Musings - just reminded me about Rednesday. Since I recently did a post on my beautiful, bright red cherries, we both agreed it was time for a visit to your part of the blogosphere.
Thanks for hosting this fun party! I would love to have you join me for my party, as well. The link goes up on Wednesday nights.
Blessings,
Liz @ the Brambleberry Cottage
