REDNESDAY - SECRETS!
Can you keep a secret? Sure, you can! We all have harmless secrets that we keep from our spouse, family, best friends, etc. I have a secret - it's called my blog! It's a secret that Mister and my family know nothing about, except for my 18-yr-old (she could care less).
Why keep it a secret? It's like a diary, it's very personal to me. I can express myself anyway I want to here without criticism. Mister knows I read blogs and have blog friends, and win blog giveaways occasionally. He thinks that's wonderful - but he doesn't know I have my very own blog! ;) Of course, I don't write anything bad about him or others.
So, Monday he comes home with some stuff that was left on the curb after a weekend yard sale. I wanted to take pics of the great vintage graphics on some of them, so I used the excuse that I would look them up online to see if they were worth anything!
Aren't these fab?
This lid has got to be the best!
Not red, but the lettering is just too cool not to show!
I stole this one from him!
This is awesome! Why would anyone just leave this? He said this is his third vintage suitcase. Uh oh! An official collection!
Now, over to an unrelated pic (sort of). Mister picked up this drink tub with stand last year. It has a hole in the bottom for ice drainage. I knew that filling it with potting soil would be too heavy, so I cut a thick piece of styrofoam to fit most of the bottom half of the tub. Then went the potting soil and Impatiens that I grew from seed.
The cats enjoy laying underneath it, on the well cover! See that pile of mulch in the background? Another freebie! The house across the street from my mo-in-law is for sale and they were sprucing up the yard. This left-over mulch was in the driveway with a free sign, so of course Mister filled up the pick-up (one and a half times) and brought it home! Yay!

I love your little secret. Sometimes I wish some members of my family who don't get my junkin habits didn't know about my blog...still I do what I want! Love your hubs finds...wow on the suitcase. What people throw away always amazes me. hugs, Linda
Only a small handful of people know that I have a blog, but I really wish I hadn't told anyone! I haven't even told my very best friend, because I just don't want her to be totally in my business. I don't know how you manage to keep it a secret from your husband, but I wish mine didn't know, because he reads it, and I feel like I can't really say what I want. Not that I'd say anything against him. It's just that now he knows just how much junk I really bring home each week! The next blog will be a total secret!
LOVE that tub of flowers, and those vintage boxes and cans are amazing, especially the varathane can with the pretty roller girl on it!
Happy REDnesday,
Carol
My family doesn't know about my blog either. I like it that way because I feel that it gives me more freedom of expression, without me having to worry about being nagged or harshly judged by them.
Only a few friends know about my blog...and I like it that way. My husband knows but has no idea or inclination to read it. It is like a diary, which you like to keep private. And a blog is a glimpse of what is important to you...it is nice to share but also keep private.
Great finds! Makes me want to get out and hit some sales...
Thanks for sharing and making me feel normal! LOL
Hi Sue
Everyone in my family and my husband's family know about my blog but the funny thing is that none of them read it, or if they do only occasionally. None of my friends read blogs so they don't even understand what I do..lol! I say I do it for myslef and that is all that counts ;)
I love your husband's vintage finds! I guess the people couldn't sell them at their yard sale and their loss is your gain!
Happy Rednesday!
Hugs, Pat
Nice and funny photos! :) Thanks for hosting! LG Tina
I so understand! I am not comfortable with many people knowing. I have only told a few people, but I haven't told them what the name is. I have a group of friends that I have been tempted to tell, but I am just not comfortable. It isn't that I have anything to hide or anything.
Your DH found some great finds on the side of the road. I am one to set things out, but only one time have I ever picked something up. It was an very old pattern back rocker! No way was I passing that up!
One thing for sure, you hubby brought home some great vintage things. I doubt there is anyone out there that does have a tiny secret tucked away. What we do not know never hurts.
My family shows no interest in my blogging. Couldn't get them to read it if I paid them. Better not to tell them than to be disappointed. Lovely finds. He always brings home goodies...smiles...Rene
Good for you, no explantation needed.
Thanks for hosting REDNESDAY, always fun.

happy rednesday--those are some NEAT vintage tins!
What a chuckle! Everyone knows about my blog, because I am always going on about taking photos of their stuff. If only I had time to post them all! They just shake their heads and smile.
My husband knows about my blog and a few close friends and I like it that way.It gives me more freedom. Most would never understand my thrifting and love of junk, lol.
Oh my! I see I'm not the only one who doesn't tell everyone about my blog! How funny! My blog is my baby and I don't want anyone rolling their eyes at it!!! But my hubby knows about it and is very supportive! He thinks I'm so smart to know how to do one. :) Well, your hubby sure brings home some good stuff!
Thanks for hosting! ♥
I wish my family, or coworkers, or neighbors didn't know about my blog. I started it for different purposes (our international adoption to China. Oh well. It keeps me on the up and up. Your hubby sure brought home some amazing finds. thanks for hosting another fabulous party.
Mister sure has picked up some amazing deals Sue..I can't get over it. I can't get over what people throw away..and that mulch. WOW..that would cost us about 60 dollars here...Loving it..Blessings...I will keep a secret too by the way. lol
I think it's smart you don't let your family know, not because they will get involved but because they won't stop by at all and at some point you think - hey, what's the deal with THAT? Of course both mean you can post pics/news of them w/o getting grief (have done so in my Rednesday post!) Love your secret.
I love your curb side finds sometimes they work out to be the best things
I have a secret also
Thanks for Rednesday
Janice
Great finds for free! I've never seen those cans before-great graphics!
Wow, Sue, what great finds and I can't believe he doesn't know you have a blog...I can't even pay my family to look at mine! lol
I was on the phone when I linked up yesterday, so I had to come back and say "hi!" Thanks so much for your sweet comments. It was so nice to hear from you. Didn't I have guts posting those "before" pics? I think I got a fever just putting them on I was so nervous!
XO
Cindy
Impatiens from seed - wow. I grow a lot from seed but have never had luck with those. Congrats.
Miss Sue I cant believe that your husband doenst know about your beautiful blog! I understand your desire to have a little corner of life that is all your own, but at the same time your blog is just so lovely and creative it seems a shame your hubby doesnt know about how so many ladies in blogland enjoy your site. or the Rednesday revolution you've started! :)
Im bummed Im joining so late today but we're on vacation and our internet usage is super spotty. But Im still getting a post up, if this connection holds out! :)
Interesting. I'd love to keep my blog a secret from my family, but everyone is always coming up to me and telling me what a doof I am. I think they'd get suspicious.
