REDNESDAY

My turkey died on Sunday . . . the little fellow in this picture had a mate, but Becky knocked it over accidentally and it smashed to smithereens.

On the same day, which happened to be my birthday, Mister dropped and broke my yellow Fire King bowl! He said that instead of giving me china for my birthday, they were getting rid of some!
Now I have to get a replacement yellow bowl - we use that one all the time.

Mister had this maraschino cherries jar in the barn and decided, recently, to let me have it. I soaked the label off and filled it with my vintage wood and spun cherries!

Here's a clean image of the lid in case anyone wants it!Oh, by the way, thanks for all the offers to be my tag partner! I chose Wendi of SoulDelights, because she was the first one to respond.

We've had more accidents at our house lately with vintage goodies than I care to admit. Most of them my fault (and not the five year old). What a perfect lid. It was just made for you!

Happy Rednesday!

I hate to hear stories like this! I hope you find a replacement soon. I've been trying to collect that set, one bowl at a time. I haven't gotten very far though, because I've only got the green and the red!
Happy REDnesday,
Carol

Well, wasn't that *nice* of Mister to help you deplete your stock! Not!

DITTY IN RED

Just a pinch of scarlet
To liven up the place;
Just a hint of ruby
Brushed upon your face;
Just a bit of cherry
Dancing round your toes;
Just some sanguine colors—
That’s the way it goes!

Hi Sue, so aorry to hear about the demise of your turkey and bowl. I swear it must be contagious. I have been braking things alot of late. I broke a large jar that I fill for all the holidays. Then I broke a cute double white candelabra yesterday. Darn, I can't even get mad at anyone but myself. Love your cute cherry jar!

That was not nice breaking your goodies on your birthday. I hope you had a great birthday except for those two things. I love all of your reds. I hope you have a wonderful week!

I love the idea of Rednesday! I have taken part this week, I hope I did it correctly, I am still very much new to this all.
Why is it all the pretty things we love are also so fragile. I just broke one of my favourite vases the other day, just too clumsy.
That cherry jar is so cute, love the lid :)

Hi Sue! So excited to take part in Rednesday again after far too long a hiatus. Thanks for your lovely shares as always, i am super jealous of those gorgeous bowls. I only had one nice pyrex bowl and I JUST broke it this past week. :( I need to ask for a set like that for Christmas.

blessings!

Sounds like you need a break from all the "brakes". I hope you can find just the one bowl. They are pricey in antique malls.
