REDNESDAY

Hello everyone! Meet the twins . . .

The one on the right I've had for many years, can't even remember where I got her. The week after Christmas I knocked her off the shelf and had to reglue her skirt. Mister can't understand why I don't just throw away broken things. (He just doesn't understand!) The one on the left I picked up at the thrift store last week for $2.00. A broken bell in her hand but, who cares? Not me! Now both can live brokenly ever after!

EDIT: I remembered this quote that Stitch says in the Lilo & Stitch movie: "This is my family. I found it all on my own. It's little, and broken, but still good. Yeah, still good."

At the same thrift store outing, I got this picnic hamper for $2.50! I just wanted the thermos in it, but the lady said they had to go as a set so, for the price, I took them. I threw away this hamper as it was a cheap, broken one, and transferred the goodies to one of my vintage Redman picnic baskets.

This is a Thermos brand thermos, but was made in England - along with all the other items in the basket.

A pretty vintage handkerchief purchased on the same trip for $1.00.

More trip items - a cute little brooch and an adorable felt bag that holds . . .

a measuring tape!

Cute, cute Sue! I love your story about the twins. Sometimes I get rid of something because it's broken and then regret it later. Love the thermos! The hankie and the felt purse with the measuring tape are darling also. Good finds girl! I am linking up today. Part of my post shows my give away treasures. Thanks again!
Hugs,
Jann

Hi Sue!
Adore the Twins, so sweet! Almost half of my knick knacks got broken in the '94 earthquake here and I tossed almost everything and I've been kicking myself ever since. WAH! Love your picnic set, I want to get one so much.

Happy Rednesday!
Sally

Somethings we just get so attached, no matter their state, we keep. I see nothing wrong with your little girls. They may be a bit broken, but have a good home.

Hi, Sue! Your twins are so cute. I don't find good figurines like that.
Love your thermos, too. I saw some vintage ones arranged on a wall at a restaraunt recently and I could hardly take my eyes off of them!

I'm linking up my newly decorated hutch tonight! thank you for hosting! ♥

PS Did you ever get my package?

You have some great reds today! I love the 'twins' and their broken but still loved state! I have so many wonderful chipped/broken/reglued items that are even more special in their imperfection! Love your Rednesday party and will join in later. Hugs, Linda

Oh my gosh, I can't believe you have one of those green and white plates (in the hanky picture. Yes, I know, it wasn't one of your red items.) I grew up eating off those exact plates every Sunday. My family has been cleaning out my parents' house over the last year and well, the remaining green and white plates went on to the thrift store. So funny how sometimes when you've seen something for 50 years, you just can't appreciate it's "vintageness". Looks a lot better on your shelf than they did in my parents kitchen cabinet.

I love your little broken ladies, real treasures. I have a Hummel figurine (left me by my great-aunt namesake) which my roommate of maaaany years ago broke :( but I glued her back together and still have (and treasure) her. I posted today about my (red) snowflake kitchen items - so fun! Hugs ~ Mary

Whoops didn't mean to enter twice. If possible feel free to take one off. Thanks again for hosting! Love the vintage hankie. Brings back memories of going to my grandmothers. She had a drawer full and always let me choose one. I still have about 12 of them. Blessings, Debbie

Such wonderful finds, Sue. You got a great price on that figurine. I had been watching some similar ones on Ebay, and they were sure not that cheap! Love the thermos and that adorable heart hankie.
