REDNESDAY

Hi everyone! Welcome to another Rednesday!

I love my giant red 'Fireball' Hibiscus!

Picked up a few things at the thrift shop this past week ~

A nice red vintage matchbox holder . . .
A festively embroidered dresser scarf . . .
And the cutest little vintage Christmas bell ornament!

I have to tell you about the visitor we've had here the past four days. Might become a permanent resident! It's a banded pigeon. (I can show his pic because he has red feet, which you can hardly see!)

He spends most of his time on top of the shed and the barn. I was able to get close enough to read his band and looked up on the internet to find his owner. Fortunately, he lives about an hour away. The guy came up on Monday and, after three hours, was unable to lure the bird to be caught. He said that if I'm able to catch him (huh?) to put it in a cardboard box with holes and call him. Or, hopefully, it will eventually fly home.

My only concern is that one of my four cats might get it, but I'm not going to babysit the bird or keep the cats indoors! Maybe I'll just call it Pidgie!

I like your red match box holder!
It looks like Pidgie has decided he likes your home best. It must be because of all the reds, don't you think?

Happy Rednesday

PS, My picture for my link didn't come out right. It doesn't look good, but I guess I will leave it.

I think Pidgie just needed a little getaway! It may only be an hour away, but it's just far enough to feel like a vacation!
LOVE your hibiscus! I'm contemplating one I saw at Home Depot, but do I really need more plants? I think we both know the answer to that question. YES!
Happy REDnesday,
Carol

Love that match holder. We had one hanging by our stove all the time I was growing up...wish I had it. :(
Thanks so much for hosting.

Well, the bird is pretty big so while the cats might enjoy stalking it, once he flapped his wings they'd probably back off! That's how our cats are anyway!

I like your match holder! I'm always on the look out for one of those! ♥

Love your red hibiscus and that match holder also but pidgie cracks me up! He should fly home or he might be 'pidgie pie' for the cats...meow!

hugs, Linda

I LOVE dinner plate hibiscus. Would you consider a give away for some of the seeds? I would be there for that! The match box holder is adorable and now I am hoping to run across one myself someday. I say keep Pidgie because if he/she wanted to be home...he/she would be home. Thank you for hosting a great meme.

Oh my goodness, I would have no idea how to catch a pigeon! As you said, I hope that the pigeon will just make his own way home.

Happy Rednesday! All your vintagey red shares this week are adorable. I'm linking up with a scrapbook page that uses a lot of red. Hope it makes you smile. :)

This week purple is about as red as I got. There is one very small bright spot of red...can you spot it? If anyone can it will be your readers!
