Let's face it, the laundry is never done! But we can make it more pleasant by decorating our laundry areas, can't we? Here are a few of my laundry room tidbits.
This first one is a small 4-inch Hummel plate, from 1987. I don't consider the 80's as vintage period, but for this post I'll make an exception! This sweet little cherub is hanging out her bloomers. I miss having a clothesline - will have to work on Mister to put up another one.
Next is a vintage child's ironing board (with red trim - just like the above bowl!) and a vintage looking laundry bag from Victorian Trading Co. I have to mention that I love these Scotch brand hooks - my old house had so many nail holes in the walls, it was pitiful!
Last is the top of my dryer with two old laundry bottles - Dazzle and Clorox, and my fun non-vintage laundry sign! After looking at this picture, I think I want to put some shelving up, and for my laundry products to be in nice looking jars or tins.
At the bottom left of this photo, on the dryer but cut off, is a little sign I made that says "Enjoy the Journey". It means that in life a lot of things stink, and a lot of things can't be changed (like laundry!), so rise above the negativity, don't let them bother you, and enjoy the journey anyways.
Don't forget to go to Coloradolady to see all the other VTT's today!

what fun things..love that hummel pic :)
You have a wonderfully creative place to do the laundry. Mine is a corner of the basement unfinished but clean.
pretty laundry room.. I want to have one like yours too.. but sadly we don't have that big space as yours.. Happy VTT..
What a way to brighten up the chore of laundry...I have been up to my eyeballs in laundry today. Love the laundry bag...so cute!
I love your little plate and the ironing board. I know how you feel about needing shelves up and pretty bottle for you soaps and cleaner, I desperately need the.
Thanks for shaing
Molly
I love doing laundry. Just strange, I guess. I highly recommend a shelf running above the two machines. It makes it easy to see what you have and to also have a little "lint" container to throw the lint into. I used a painted-up coffee can...
I love the little one hanging out her bloomers. She's just adorable. Happy VTT, have a great weekend.
Seeing this is inspiring! I haven't decorated my laundry area at all. Maybe it would make the chore less drab!
It's great to try to make the laundry room a little pretty.
I love that little ironing board...I have 2 child size irons that would go great with it!!
Your vintage looking laundry bag fits right into the mix there - it's beautifully created! The little ironing board looks like a 'sleeve press' I saw at a goodwill store the other day - but the one I saw did not have a cover on it....yours is so cute!
What a great laundry room! we might as well make our laundry room a fun and pretty place to be since laundry never goes away..
Oh how I love your red "Kitchen" dish towel its perfect!.
Take care and enjoy your day,
Elizabeth
Love what you have done with your laundry area and it sounds like you have a wonderful outlook on life. Have a nice day!
Laundry Room decorations! I love it! What an idea :) The plate is adorable :)
Oh my goodness..I love that Laundry Bag....It is so precious...Love all your treasures.
Great laundry room! Love the child's ironing board!
That is the cutest little ironing board. When I was growing up, every little girl had a toy iron and ironing board - it was part of our wife/mom-in-training!! Now a lot of Moms don't even have ironing boards. That Hummel plate is special, also. Thanks for showing us your laundry area. Sally
That Hummel plate is so cute, and I love the child's ironing board. Great laundry room accesories. laurie
Love the child's ironing board. I can't wait to get my laundry room out of the kitchen!
I just had hubby put up some shelves in my laundry room. Love them!! You should get some shelves!
Like the plate and ironing board...cute accessories!
The Buddhist's say "Chop wood, carry water." Work is a part of life and we should embrace it...,ironing board and all.
Love the child's ironing board and the old brown bottles.
Little items like these sure make a room! Love your laundry items, and your red kitchen ones too.
Sweet little touches that make home more cozy!
