THE FLOWERS GRAND FINALE

I think we're going to get our first frost tonight. I can "feel" it. So, I went out at the end of the day and cut a bunch of flowers and brought them in; then covered a few potted annuals on the steps.

Zinnias, Coreopsis, Candytuft, Chrysanthemum, Snapdragon, Scabiosa.

Cosmos, Love Lies Bleeding, Zinnias, Gaillardia, Roses, Stock, Bessera, Bachelor's Buttons, and Tall Verbena.

And my "prize" Dahlia. It's one of those garden center no-names, but it sure is stunning! Not a tall one, and the blossoms are 4" (10 cm) across - just right!

This is a Viola 'King Henry' that I threw into a pot at the last minute. Should've brushed the dirt off before photographing - oh, well!

These are my cuttings to root. A few antique geraniums, a pineapple sage, and plenty of coleus!

I've also cut some Creeping Wire Vine and Sweet Potato Vine 'Blackie'. I brought in my Begonia, Rosemary, a small Catnip, and my hanging Calibrachoa.

All I have left to do is bring in the Dahlia tubers, Bessera and Gladiola bulbs. (I hope!)

Now begins the wait for Spring again!

You have some very nice plants left. It is strange, but most of mine looked as though they were dying. Now that the weather is cooler with lots of rain, they are budding and blooming again. It will be awhile before we have a freeze here. Thus, I should have pretty flowers for little longer.

We had our first frost a few days ago. It's so sad. Doesn't it seem too early? I'm usually still watering all of the impatiens on Halloween. I hope all of your cuttings root like crazy!

I can't believe the variety of flowers you can grow. I have never seen candytuft growing, just admired it in seed catalogs is all.

The dahlia is gorgeous!
