REDNESDAY!

Hi everyone, welcome to Rednesday! February (school) vacation week - yahoo! I can sleep late all week, except for today - Jade is here to play with my niece down the street. She wanted to make a craft this morning and came up with this fantastic idea. She took a 3-oz. paper bathroom cup, cut it in half and colored the outside brown with a permanent marker. Then she decorated four "puff balls", as she calls them, with googly eyes and yellow paper beaks. Voila - baby birds in a nest! How cute is that? (Notice I put a red border around the pic to qualify using it today!)

This is the February Tag-Along I made a few weeks ago, but kept forgetting to post. It represents Presidents Day, Valentine's Day and the month I start sowing seeds indoors!

A Red-bellied Woodpecker that's been in my yard this month. My Audubon bird book says they only go as far north as Connecticut, but maybe they've expanded their range.

I found this "S" at the thrift shop recently, along with the glitzy earrings. The "S" now resides happily in my yellow-painted "play room"!

As I was coming down the stairs the other day I noticed the coat rack had all red on it, so I snapped a pic!
Your turn!

How fun! We still have school here til spring break. In fact, thanks to all the snow days, my grandchildren had school on holidays to make up for it. But that's good - better than cutting short spring break plans. :)

And speaking of grandkids, I have to leave to pick them up so am really glad you are up early :) :) :) After all, a granny nanny's work is never done but it's oh so fun :)

Have a LOVELY REDnesday :)

I think Jade has a great future artistic future ahead of her, and I love her little birdy nest!
Great shots of that woodpecker! I think alot of those bird books need to be updated. I remember when I was little, the Canadian Geese would migrate in the Fall, and now they stay here year round. Global warming? Who knows!
Happy REDnesday!

p.s. Cute Feb. tag!

Hi Sue,
Cute, cute little birds in a nest!!
I have the same "S". I'm sure you purchased at a much better price than I did since you thrifted it. Just ran and looked and the price sticker is still on the back. I purchased mine at Anthropologie marked down from $12.00 to $7.95.
Hope your having a wonderful winter break. My kids head back to school tomorrow. :o)
Fondly,
Ann

What an adorable craft. If was doing daycare I would have used that. Great idea! I am so in love with those earrings girl. They would look amazing with my blue smock for Walmart! I noticed the rack of coats yesterday and just adored that pic.

Your tag came out so pretty. I have TONS of material that I picked up at a yard sale a few years ago. Already been cut into shape to use for tags. They were samples from Sears for people that were interested in curtains and fabrics for their furniture. I have about 100 of them...I was using a few for book marks. I'm hoping to get into the 'tag' craft soon....

Wonderful reds, like always. I especially enjoyed the pictures of the woodpecker. I love watching the birds at our feeder in the winter. They bring such joy.
