IRENE IS GONE!

We fared well during this storm even though, unfortunately, others did not. There was torrential rain Saturday night and Sunday morning; gusty wind most of Sunday, then tapered off toward the evening.
We didn't lose power even though much of the town, and neighboring towns did. There are lots of branches down all over the yard, and one (dead) tree down on the edge of the yard/woods. We had an automated message from the police department last night telling us which roads would be blocked off today because of downed trees and power lines. Hmm, I wonder if this will affect the first day of school tomorrow?

Our house must be in some sort of sheltered place because I remember a few years ago there was a microburst tornado that passed through town. Our house/yard, and the cul-de-sac beside us, looked fairly normal when it was over. We thought it was just a bad thunderstorm. I drove up town to get some pizza after, and was shocked at all the damage around town!

So, praise the Lord for his protection and safety, and I pray those up and down the East Coast will receive the help they need as quickly as possible.

(I will post about the tag swap on Rednesday.)

I'm glad you are alright after the awful storm. It seems strange that some states were experiencing the storm and yet some such as our state didn't get even a drop of rain. My heart goes out to those badly affected. Shannon

So glad to hear that everything is OK in your neck of the woods! It seems that the places where they thought it would be bad have been spared, and unexpected spots really got hit. Hope to be able to link up to Rednesday next week!

Sue,
So glad to hear you are OK....it sounds like you live in a special area....I have a friend here that when the bad storms come, they just go around her! Amazing....someone is watching over you, that is for sure! Sandy

As a Floridian, it's just so weird to hear about hurricanes bothering people up North. I count my lucky stars and I'm happy to hear you have weathered the storm well!

Im glad the storm didnt cause any serious damage for you. I feel bad for the folks that have to deal with its after math. We live in western Ny, so we only got wind and clouds. It made for beautiful waves on lake ontario!
have a great week

Praise the Lord indeed for your safety. That rain would have been a welcomed sight here...we are praying for more since we finely got a bit last week....we had a small break in the temps today...it stayed under 100....very welcome change for sure and for certain :) Blessings on your week.
