IN GOD WE TRUST

What's God got to do with it?

The House voted 396-9 this week to reaffirm as the national motto the phrase "In God We Trust" and encouraged its pronouncement on public buildings and continued printing on the coin of the realm. The motto was made official in 1956 during the height of Cold War hysteria over godless communism.

" . . . it would seem that Americans are more aware today than half a century ago that it's up to us to secure our freedom through enlightened secular policies with practical social applications rather than faith-based hope in empty mottoes reflecting an era gone by." (NOT!)

Almost unbelievable that this happened in Washington, isn't it? But praise the Lord that they chose right, we desperately need this!

May good men continue to do the right thing. May the rest of us continue to elect good men.

I am glad to see that our people in th governmenr are hearing what "we the people" want.....this was an easy enough request. We still have so many things to fix in this country, but this is good start! I think his comment about "trust" is noteworthy, can we really trust most of our government right now? I don't think so.....so....in God we Trust!

Maybe if we didn't bypass our beliefs so much, things would not be so wrong, maybe. Glad to hear our Representatives are still active in something - they can't seem to get it together for anything else.
