SADLER, LEFTON, & LIMOGES

I have a collection of rose-patterned china and pottery pieces in my bedroom. No particular designs other than I just like roses! But I have noticed that I've acquired four pieces of Sadler (England) pottery with the same pattern on them. Here they are displayed on a bookcase that fits perfectly between the bathroom and closet doors ~

Interesting how the transfer is horizontal on the bell and ginger jar, but vertical on the vase and canister.

I haven't been able to track down the pattern name yet. If anyone knows about Sadler, please send info!

Hanging on the wall is a plate in a hammered aluminum frame. Some years back one of my best friends had this framed plate hanging over her kitchen fireplace in the Victorian manse she lived in. She has since moved out of state, but I so admired that plate! Two years ago I found one at our church's annual yard sale and, boy, was I excited!  I've seen them online selling for anywhere between $15 and $50, so was thrilled when I only had to pay $4 for it.

And, while I'm on the subject of the roses, I want to show you this cute little vintage ashtray set made by Lefton.

My mother-in-law picked it up at her senior center "store" (a shelf in a closet for second-hand items). I really should put it in the kitchen to use for teabags - they're the perfect size!

Oh my goodnesss.. I think your MIL picked up the "Moss Rose" pieces. I have mini collection of Moss Rose china / tea set, made in Japan, for my bedroom and I have ONE of the little ashtrays I found at estate sale. Would love the little set. Anyways I thought same thing and use mine on my tea tray as teabag holder! And I have random rose prints/tea cups/items in my bedroom too scattered around!

Roses are my great love as well. No matter where they are on a cup or whatever. You have some very pretty pieces and I like the way you have them displayed. Trust all is well with you and family.

Thanks for visiting me! I think your ashtray set is so pretty, and teabags - that's a great use for them. I have a vintage Delft ashtray I use as a spoon rest, there's another idea:) Take care - Dawn @ We Call It Junkin.com

Hmm--a mystery--I saw some patterns similar at replacement.com but none quite like yours.
