Here I am at eleven months old in October, 1956.
Here, from the bottom, are three 1955 wheat pennies; the heart-shaped locket that was my first piece of jewelry; my hospital baby bracelet with my last name - yup, my maiden name is PINK!; a silhouette charm with my name and birth date, from my maternal grandma's bracelet; and a poem my mother had cut out of the newspaper after I was born. (See below the photo for the words.)
Oh, I would buy you costly silks,
And satins fine and rare,
For naught but beauty should adorn
A child so sweet, so fair.
But I could travel far and wide
Yet vainly would I seek
To match the silken of thy hair
The satin of thy cheek.

These rings were, on left, my paternal grandfather's (whom I never met). The band is sterling, but no idea if the stone is a gem or just glass. The ring on the right has a story. My dad had brought the topaz back from WWII. I can't remember exactly where - he was mostly in the Mediterranean. When he met my mom, after the war, he made it into a ring for her but, being a soft stone, it chipped easily. So it's been that way ever since! (You can see the chip on the upper right.)

Oh wow! I'm overwhelmed by how much great stuff you shared. I think I like the charm and the poem the best, but I think it's all really cool. Thanks for sharing. :)
Lovely post--I was born January 1956.
How sweet! My Mom used to "collect" wheat pennies to glue onto her dry sink top.
The rings are lovely..and your baby things are so sweet. Happy VTT and have a most wonderful day.
I remember the charm head, I think I had a couple of those...no telling what ever happened to them....what a wonderful memory your post brought to mind. Have a great weekend.
Delightful treasures to behold..i especially love your photo & the poem :)
Love the stories that go with your pictures. That pink stone might be pink sapphire. My family has a ring w/ a similarly colored stone and we had it looked at by 2 jewelers.
What a blessing to still have these tiny treasures, love the braclet, I had mine in my jewelry box when our home was robbed in 1973, I know I'll never see it again. Thanks for sharing, I love to stroll down memory lane.
Beautiful things. I was just thinking today of some of the "vintage" things I have from my birth.
I'm new to your blog home for VTT! What a great way to meet you...oh sweet childhood memories! Love all your Vintage treasures!
I still have my baby bracelet. How sweet!
These are such sweet personal mementos. I'll
have to take a look at my baby books now and
take a walk down memory lane too! :)
I love your memories! Those rings are beautiful.
Do you wear them?

CUTE little birth bracelet......my Mom has mine but it just says my first name.
I love your last name.
Lovely post!
Great idea for a Vintage Thursday. I love the baby photo and the topaz ring with a story. What good memories they hold.
Sharing so much great stuff this week! I know, I'm a bit behind in my posting, but I'm so glad I made it here. I really enjoyed your post this week!
Enjoy your weekend!
That photo is too cute, you are a "Few" years younger than I am, but the same era, fun to remember all those good old things isn't it. :) And to think I thought I was the only one that collected all this old stuff. :) Glad to know there are others that enjoy vintage. :)
How wonderful to have all of these treasures. Your baby picture in the stroller is precious, and I love that poem your mother saved all of those years (so sweet). Thank you for sharing these wonderful treasures. laurie
