BOWLS OF CHERRIES, AND STRIPES, AND DOTS!

Welcome to REDnesday, my friends! I went to a thrift store today (that's operated by my mother in law's church) to drop off some stuff - toys, etc. This is more of a true second-hand place with very little vintage, to my dismay! So usually I'm lucky if I come out with one item that suits me. But today I came out with almost as much as I dropped off - and all for $6.00! And, wouldn't ya know it - my camera is in the truck that Mister took to Bible study tonight, so I can't show them off!

But I will show off some small bowls I have that are red. These first two are vintage Fire King polka dots. (FYI - the S&P's are W. S. George 'Blushing Rose' pattern).
This set was picked up at a local discount store that's kind of like Big Lots (called Ocean State Job Lot). The largest bowl is about as big as a good-sized cereal bowl.
These are Melamine and are from Home Goods, $3 on clearance. Survey question: are they cherries or apples? I honestly can't tell, even though I'm calling them cherries!

Have a great week! (I still haven't made it to Michael's!)

Oh Sue...
You can't ask hard questions at the end of the day. I love the bowls, and I would call them cherries, but I am afraid someone else is going to say apples. You know how that song goes. They are whatever you want them to be. That's what I say. Gosh darn it they are as cute as they can be.

Thanks for sharing. I so love them. I am lovin those S&P shakers too.

Have a beautiful day sweetie. Country hugs...Sherry

I love the polka dot bowls and the striped ones too! As for whether those are apples or cherries on the other bowls, let's call them cherries!

I love all the bowls. Actually all of your RED things. The fruit could be apples or cherries. You could go either way with that one. But because they are yours, I will call them cherries!

Happy REDnesday!

I'm fond of bowls, especially the ones with red on it, so I love this post! But.... I think the cherries are apples! In my cabinet they definately would be apples (I've a little "apple-collection), but I think in your cabinet they are cherries!

Sue,

After my quickie post yesterday I am finally getting around to commenting!

I just love your bowls. Those polka dot Fire King are adorable! I don't recall ever seeing any like that. The bell shape is beautiful. I sure wish we had some store like Ocean State Job Lot and Home Goods here in Iowa. Our Big Lots went out of business, so I don't even have that anymore.

Thanks for sharing and hosting!

I haven't gotten much blogging (reading or posting) done this week. But I had to stop in and see your REDS this week!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the little polka dot bowls!!! I NEED to find me some!

Now the bowl with the apples, I mean cherries, I immediately saw cherries....until I read the word apples....now I'm not sure! haha! Still cute though!

I hope to be back next week...camera isn't working right now...so maybe not...but I'll be back to read at least!
