Welcome to Rednesday! But, first,

WAAAAAA!

I'm having driver problems with my computer and I can't retrieve anything from my flash drives, where ALL my pics are stored!

I wanted to show you the gifts I received from my two Easter swaps but, nooooo, the computer won't let me! Anne from Finland, and Shirley of Zetta's Aprons sent me the most wonderful, best ever, stuff! I'll post the pics as soon as I can.

So today I've just taken some vintage Easter card images from Google to share with you. Enjoy!

REDNESDAY - EXPRESS YOURSELF!

How do you express your "Red"? I mean, besides your home decorating. Do you use "skins" on your computer? I do!

My email has a plain red skin at the moment ~

My iGoogle home page has a cherry skin, or theme, as does my FireFox background!

And, let's not forget my Photobucket pages, too!

Now, totally unrelated is this set of cute little cabin ornament/decorations. *sigh* ~ makes me wish I was "at the lake", if you know what I mean!

I WAS ON MY WAY TO BLOG WHEN . . .

Do you get distracted while trying to post? Here's basically what happened today ~

10:00 a.m. - sit down and open New Post page. Decide to check weather and emails before I get started. Oh, and I'd better throw in a load of laundry before I forget! (washer/dryer in same room as computer)

10:20 - Mister comes home after having breakfast with 100-yr-old Grampy to (finally!) put in the A/C's. (It was 90F/32C at 7:30 a.m.!) So I have to help him.

10:45 - Sweep kitchen floor, reload dishwasher, fold load of laundry.

11:00 - Teen wants to watch Dr. Who (#10) episodes, which I've been watching with her, so I sit down and we watch two.

12:30 - 12:45 - Put a few items on Etsy and Homeschool Used Books sites. Make more coffee and eat a piece of apple pie for brunch. Take clean laundry upstairs. Look up how to clean something on Google. Oh, and I need to catch up on a few blog friends while here.

1:30ish - Get distracted with more this and that.

2:15 - I'm here! Oh, yeah . . . and I've got to get my Rednesday ready for tonite!

New Computer

I have a new computer! Finally! But, as we all know, you can't get it up and running in an instant. DH and I both got new ones. My wireless adapter isn't Vista-compatible with mine, but is on his - go figure!? So gotta go out and buy a new adapter. My nice (one year old) all-in-one printer isn't Vista-compatible so I need to download stuff to fix that, too.

So, I'm using dh's temporarily. That's why I didn't post on VTT yesterday. But, on the bright side, I have a very nice 19" monitor (that Teen is sooo jealous of)! And when I watch Africam, I can actually work in one window while viewing in another - yay!
Once I get all the kinks worked out I'll be back on regularly!

My Computer Shelf

Over at Vintage Thingies Thursdays this week, someone shared the shelf above their kitchen sink where some of her favorite things were - because she's always there and sees them most. Great idea! Some of my favorite things are on the shelves above my computer, because that's where I am a lot. Let's take a "tour":

This is the whole kit & kaboodle, then I'll show close-ups of each section.
Starting from the top left, is the Currier & Ives illustration I printed from the internet for our home school, a vintage box of thumb tacks, a "clay" pot my dd made from some yard mud, a Hello Kitty gardener my other dd gave me, and a Willow Tree "Angel of the Garden" my MOL gave me.
On the top, middle, is an enamelware with green rim box that I keep some home school cd's in, a Mary Engelbreit photo magnet that says "A Little House ~a house of my own~ Out of the wind's and the rain's way.", and a Gnomes soldered art I purchased on eBay.
Top right is my fake-repro lunchbox by Moda, and an unknown vase.
Middle shelf is, on the left, gardening, birds, home books and a bookend I showed a few weeks back. In the middle are two fairies and a mirror - the left one is by Munroe "faerie glen" series and the other is a Cicely Mary Barker.
To the right are my ever-lovin' gnomes with some vintage Oriental garden, probably fishtank, pieces.
The bottom left shelf hosts an Anchor Hocking retro green mug and a glove(?) box that I keep stamps and address labels in. Press the rooster's wings and he gives a wake-up call! Comes in handy with my teen!
The bottom right is what I call my Red Hat Society - didn't group them by head gear intentionally, though. The dog has no tag, but the other two are marked Japan. They all get along well.

And, finally, in the middle are two items my pre-teen dd made for me this year. A tulip using some of my plant labels for leaves, and a picture depicting a leopard, jackals, and two rangers that we saw on Africam earlier this year.Hope you enjoyed these, and have a great Saturday everyone!
