SUNDAY ENCOURAGEMENT

I picked up this "tapestry"/wall hanging at the thrift store last week. I hung it in the living room, of which Mister isn't too happy because I took down the painting our neighbor painted and gave to us! But, I love this scene and the promise verse on it.

HOUSE CRASHERS

I want to be on House Crashers!

My sister emailed me a note that House Crashers will be all the way out here in Massachusetts next week - a few towns over from me! They will be at an Ace Hardware two days in a row, from 9:00 to 1:00. Of course, I'm not going to hang out there both days, for four hours each!

My living room desperately needs help. I might just email them to look for me there!

This is how I say it:

ODDS & ENDS

Okay, now to make up for yesterday!

I think I got this on eBay. It doesn't work, must be broken - I still find dirty laundry everywhere but where it's supposed to be!
I guess this is what you'd call a "manly" book bag!
Mister took Teen to the thrift shop last week. She came home with old gaming systems - she collects them.

And, last, a few tin toys in my hutch. The swan and ferris wheel are repro's by Schilling, the turtle is vintage.

Dump Find

Well, I'm happy as a clam! DH brought this treasure home from the dump yesterday! The finial is broken off - needs glue but, otherwise, in tip-top shape. It stands 22" high. I'm going to put it in the living room and make a miniature garden in it. The fairies will be delighted!

I did get six of my cuttings potted up - need to do the rest. I think I'll work on some Valentines today - pre-game!

REDnesday #3

Happy middle of the week! Snowing again in my neck of the woods. There have been about a dozen Juncos hanging out in the hydrangea tree today, beside the bird feeder. A pair of Cardinals visited also, so I snapped a photo of them. The male is in the lower left, the female is circled in the upper middle.

My town doesn't have school today but, even though it's noon, I think I'll still do home school. Here's another reddie - a neat satin pillow I picked up at a second-hand shop. My teen dd is into Japanese/oriental stuff, but this ended up in my living room.

See you tomorrow for Vintage Thingies Thursday!

Thrift Shop Finds

DH was at our favorite thrift shop the other day and brought me home this pretty magazine rack.

I stopped there this morning on my way to the grocery store and got these beautiful reticulated plates from Germany. I've had my eye on them for a while but didn't want to pay the asking price. Today they were having a half-price sale, so I scooped them up! (Along with a few other goodies, too!) They're 7" across and will hang in my purple bathroom, on either side of the window. Isn't this little cup and saucer set such a cutie patootie? The cup is only 1-1/2" high and the plate 3-1/2".

I also bought these two garden items: a 5-1/2" statue of a boy with a bunny, and a planter(?) with a dragonfly. And, lastly, a garden angel pillow!
