THERE'S A NEW KID IN TOWN
Hi! My name is Cherry and I'm new in town. I'm a little shy, but I love to make new friends. Do you like my pretty new dress? It was made just for me!

I even got a new pair of patent-leather shoes with cherries on the buckles!

I've got something behind my back. Can you guess what it is? Tee, hee! (I love secrets!)
A bunch of cherries, of course! They're my favorite snack . . . I wonder why?
Peek-a-boo! Look how tall I am! I'm such a big girl!

Where did I come from? Do you even need to ask? I'm an ImagiMeri Creation, of course!

Meri had a give-away this past Fall and Sue won. She got to choose from a variety of images and she chose me! This is what I looked like before I came to life:

I kinda look like a cross between Shirley Temple and Little Orphan Annie! I needed a new dress so Sue asked Miss Meri if I could have a red one with cherries on the front. I'm so happy! (And, so is Sue!)
Meri - thank you so much for your divine creation! I was expecting something small, maybe 6 inches, but this blew me away - she's awesome!!

REDNESDAY'S ANNIVERSARY!

Guess what? Rednesday is 3 years old this week!

Woo, hoo, let's have a party! My first Rednesday post was January 14, 2009. So, for my anniversary, I'm going to have a give-away! (Naturally!) This is open to all you red lovers, and here's what you'll be getting:

I was in Jo-Ann Fabric the other day and saw this pretty cut-out felt heart and thought it would be great to include. That made me look for some more red/Valentine stuff while there ~ the red and clear bling hearts, the Valentine clear stamp and backing, a fat quarter of a red print fabric, the Queen of Hearts pad of paper, the heart ribbon, and . . .

the K&Company dimensional stickers.

There is also a handful of vintage checker pieces, a package of vintage red piping, one vintage doll clothespin, a pair of vintage clip-on earrings, two 1-inch floral "badges" (pinless), a 5x7" paper scrapbook, and . . .

five sheets of 6x6" paper from the Cosmo Cricket Odds & Ends Mini Deck!

Everyone who leaves a comment will be entered. I'll leave the giveaway open until next Wednesday, and announce the winner on Thursday the 19th. Good luck!
I'm working on my January Page-of-the-Month and will show you in a few days.

REDNESDAY FLOWERS AND A WINNING

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend - we did! It was school vacation here, also. I spent LOTS of time out in the garden/yard. Here's a few outdoor reds ~
Spirea

I wanted to wait until after Easter to show the following. I won Susie's Spring Fling Giveaway at Puddle Jumper Creations! She has a wonderful blog and does wonderful work - go check her out! My gift is a set of day-of-the-week dishtowels! Aren't they gorgeous? The images are so me - a gardener! They are machine stitched with beautiful colors, and pretty stripes on the sides as well! Thanks so much, Susie!

P.S. - are you all ready for the Royal Wedding on Friday?

GIVEAWAY WINNER . . . AND STUFF

Guess who won the 400 Posts/400 Followers Giveaway? Rebecca of It's A Shabby Pink World! My two "random number generators" (my teens) are both taking naps right now (2:00), so I used an online one, and number 9 came up. And that's Rebecca! Do you think it's a coincidence that our blog names are almost identical? And that one of my teens name is Rebekah? If you love pink (and what female doesn't) then, by all means, go visit her blog! CONGRATULATIONS!!
Now, on to less important stuff . . .
I received one Valentine swap this week already! So early, but she's right on the ball! I will save it, and all that I get, until V Day - it will be more fun to open them all together! I've been cutting mine out this week - I'm so excited!

Smokey was outside my computer room, soaking up the sun on a chilly 27F/-3C day! Yes, I was smart enough to take the pic from indoors!

I stopped at the thrift store today, first time since well before Christmas. Got a glass dome, a pretty bluebirds suncatcher, a cute mini deer, and a 6" tidbit dish by Kromex in the (Anchor Hocking) Wexford pattern.

REDNESDAY

I'm preparing this post on Tuesday and we're in for a blizzard tomorrow - 1 to 1-1/2 feet (30 - 45 cm) of snow! I'm all settled in - got my cocoa and mini marshmallows, Teen and I are making brownies tonight, and loads of craft materials at my beckon and call. It's gonna be a great day! (so long as we don't lose our power!)
I had a wonderful phone chat with Melody of Brown Gingham Creations this afternoon. She called to see if everything was okay because she didn't see my Rednesday post up yet - she thought today was Wednesday! :) So, of course, we talked about everything under the sun!
I'm loving the birds at my feeders - this male cardinal, the blue jays, juncos ("snow bird"), titmice, chickadees, etc.

And now . . . I can't wait any longer . . . announcing . . . my

I just noticed the other day that I have over 400 followers, and this is my 444 post! What a milestone! So, of course, following blog tradition, I'm going to have a giveaway - a very, cherry giveaway!
The winner gets a cherry paper fan, cherry recipe cards, cherry sticky notes, clear stamps of fruit (one's cherries), a plastic 7" (17 cm) cherry jar, and a yard (91 cm) of ribbon that I picked up today that has happy hearts on it ~ just in time for your Valentine crafts!

Just leave a comment on this post - I will draw the winner's name on Saturday the 15th. That will give all the Rednesday readers plenty of time to see this and enter. (Cheese Boy - does Cheese Girl like cherries?)
Now, let's get this Rednesday party started!

REDNESDAY

I have lots of pics for you, today. First is some Winterberry branches that I stuck in an old cream can on the steps.

Next are some books from my vintage Christmas book collection. I'm slowly getting the decorations out this week.

I picked up this Empeco canister yesterday for $2, and Mister got the utensils last week for under $2!

Someday I'll get a good enough camera that will adjust for lighting. This vignette was "as is" until I added the vintage plastic Santa ornament. The little wood heart says, "My heart is in the garden". The mesh ball is a birdseed holder, but I might put a votive or a plastic bird or something in it.

This collection is what I won from Sian of Diary of a Tinyholder blog. Can you believe that all this luscious stuff was the second place winnings? My favorite is the key chain - it already holds my keys!

Your turn! I'm sure I'll be seeing lots of Christmas stuff this week! (And the next, and the next . . .)

Hey, guess what? It's giveaway time again! My sister works part-time at a Hallmark store and came over today with a stash of goodies from their recent open house. So, because she gave me doubles of each item, I thought I'd share them, too!
The winner will get 10 Christmas cards, a red polka-dotty journal, a green mug that says "All I want for Christmas is Peace on Earth and really cute shoes!", and a Hallmark 2010 ornament of a cookies sheet with rolling pin and cookies attached!
Just leave a comment on this post, and I will pick the winner on Friday, the day after (American) Thanksgiving. Good luck! Oh, and guys, please enter - your wife or girlfriend would probably love these!

GIVEAWAY WINNER! AND A THRIFTY TIP

The winner of my giveaway is:
Vicki, the Cherry Chick!

Go over to her blog and congratulate her!
Now for the craft tip. I was thinking this week about some chair cushion covers that I bought a few years ago for $1 each. They just need to be stuffed, but it takes about one full bag for each cushion. And that costs about $7 (I think) per bag. Not very thrifty. So I was thinking that I should pick up throw pillows at yard sales and use their stuffing. I could probably get the pillows for a quarter or fifty cents each. So, there's your thrifty tip!

5. a 7-inch (17cm) plate from Tender Heart treasures (yard sale)
6. a summer-striped pocket notepad/pen
